Thanks for the photos, looks like Italeri didn't make homework as it should be done.
I'm making the version with the hood, so there will not be a lot to see inside the cab.
Anyway, even the Eduard did'nt correct this parts.
Italeri made so many errors in the kit. No steering parts, too small front, soft details, wrong cab interior, totally inaccurate cargo bed. Shame on Italeri!
CAD Images mean nothing.

Excellent build and finish.
I just have one question. With the solid roof you applied, why would the gun mount even be installed, let alone have an M2 mounted on it? With the solid roof, it would be very difficult to even get the gun off the rack to use it I would think. Maybe I'm missing something here?

Yup, Cory is right. The gun ring is not usually mounted when the hard top is added.
On an interesting note, my Battery drew an M923A1 hardtop in Kuwait in '03 before we invaded Iraq. It came w/out the ring mount, but we added one and cut a hole in the hardtop so the gunner could use it.

Yes guys, You are right.
I know it could look strange, but I decided to instal the hardtop because the interior is such poor that making the whole thing inside from scratch would take ages.
It's called compromis

Call it what you like. It looks more than strange, it just looks wrong. You could have fix it properly, especially when you were shown how it should look early on, but you choose to ignored it.
You could have also just added the hard top and left the gun ring off.
A little more effort and it could have looked great and been pretty accurate too.
