I received an email from Shapeways today. The HEMTT brake cylinders are done and on their way. I should have them in a few days. I'll let you know how they look.

Great to hear Gino.

And I'd love to do the older cameras as well.

Happy Holidays everyone! Now that my finals are over, I can finally get back into CAD work and finish off done projects. I want to thank everyone who made requests this year and purchased the designs put up. I hope to continue to be able to work on more requests and designs. Most of the projects I work on originate with you guys and gals out there.

Starting now to work up photos and dimensions for Mike G on the wartime Speed Graphic 4x5 Press Camera. The one shown here is actually a post war, early 50's US Army camera but overall dimensions and major details are the same.

Bellows shown over-extended as for doing close up work. This is done for additional clarity of the camera design.

One more suggested camera accessory to offer: the Graflex "Vulcanoid"* Carry Case.

US Army Signal Corps Photo

(My 73 year old carry case looks to have about as much wear as the combat version shown above.)

Ordered by the Army in 1943 - this carry case outside measurements are: 11-1/2" deep, 9-1/4" wide, 19-3/8" long. (Measurements here DO NOT include handle, hinge or latches.)

*The Vulcanoid material was basically stamped, steam formed heavy cardboard with metal rivets and corner protectors.)

I made a tiny bit, and I mean tiny, of progress to the CREW DUKE model with the addition of the grab handles. Unfortunately the only picture I can really get of the system isn't enough. If anyone had any more pictures that could be used, they would be really helpful towards completing the CREW DUKE model. Plus any pictures of the back would be nice as well.

Hey Mike, the AN/VIC 2 is gone. A few days back you said it had been updated with new bolts but now it isn't listed.

Regards

That would be the SINCGARS VIC-2 right? The Pre-SINCGARS is still there. I'll look into the SINCGARS VIC-2 version.

Update: The VIC-2 SINCGARS, and only the VIC-2 SINCGARS model, has been deemed unprintable at this moment. I need to check where the problem areas are and correct them. This will be done in time. For the moment, the VIC-2 Pre-SINCGARS model is still available.

Hi Mikey, have you been able to make any progress on the wicker ammo panniers yet? Cheers

No, I haven't gotten the the wicker panniers. The most recent thing I've done was editing the AN/VIC-1. That was a couple weeks ago. I haven't done anything since. I do still have the DSLR cameras to do along with adding the bolts to the VIC-3 (if that hasn't been done yet) and the VIC-2s. I want to get back into doing the VRC-12 set so that is being moved up as well. The panniers are down on the list because I'm not sure if I can even pull them off.

How about a copy of the M-60 series tank commander machine gun, the M-85 .50 caliber? It has a distinctive flash hider/muzzle brake and a barrel extension jacket that is different from the standard M2 HB machine gun. All of the new kits (M60, M60A1, M60A2, M728 CEV) are crying out for a decent representation that injection molded plastic just can't replicate.

Yes, the M85 is of interest. I have looked into it before and I am considering it. I need to gather some more resources for it first, though. I would only be supplying the barrel (with muzzle brake of course) and cooling jacket if done.

A great update from Shapeways! They've cut lead times for Frosted Detail Plastics. Now, instead of 6 days from order to production, it's 3 days!

A new update:

AN/VIC-1, AN/VIC-3, AN/VIC-3 LV2 and AN/VIC-5 have all now been updated with rivets. VIC-1, VIC-3, LV2, VIC-5 and the LS-688 also now all have 1/16 counterparts. Categories in the webshop have been updated and, hopefully, more user-friendly.

I have some good news and a little bad news.

The 1/35 LS-671 speakers now come with VIC-1/2 type connectors and a 1/16 version is available!

The bad news is that the 1/35 version is now $1.84 more expensive.

Mike, do I recall correctly that you were in the process of creating an Urdan cupola for 3D printing?

will get the dimensions and photos of the GRC86 radio set to you

It was mentioned but at the time I didn't have anything in the works for an Urdan cupola. I'm going to have to take a scroll back through the thread to catch some of the older suggestions.
