I always wondered why some of their kits had an "S" in their kit number. Some of the kits are obvious such as the ones they bought from Skybow. I think that the inclusion of other manufacturer's parts is the reason. For instance, the tree containing the Wiesel MK20A1 (kit AF35S03) variant parts is labelled "Revell". Quite a surprise when I saw that. Whether it was for a Revell Wiesel or something AFV Club made for Revell, I don't know.

Brand new clothes all around. Now all it needs is the "jewelry" and some tats.

Detail painting to gun and mount, tools on the cruciform and trucks, and the like, then basic barrel decals like in the instructions.

Oh, there are three Panzer/Dark Gray/Grey colors in there. Vallejo Air, Tamiya rattle can, and Humbrol. To the naked eye? Pfft, I can't tell the difference (or it's so minute that it doesn't matter).

Tracks built. A little touch up here and there and I can finalize the paint and start some wear and tear.

I have decided to start with the Holland YPR765-PRI. I was going to build the M-10 kit, which I purchased from a friend for a bargain-basement price, but the instructions were not present (didn't catch that when I bought the kit.) I was reluctant to build the YPR765 as I built the M730A1 Chaparral and M163A1 Vulcan kits, both based on M113 chassis', for the Flak is Back Campaign.

If I complete the YPR765 in time (end of December) I think my second build for this campaign will be the M-88 ARV with AM interior. I have a lot of experience with M88, not as a crewman, but as a recipient of its services!

Oops! That was supposed to go in the 250/251 campaign. I haven't started the my AFV kit yet.

But in answer to your question, it's the 251/2 mortar carrier.

Don't feel like the Lone Ranger there, Shell, I've posted the wrong pix to the wrong Campaign threads a few times myself, ;-)

So, I am about 9 steps into this 251 kit now, and I have to say it is got a bunch of detail I didn't get in the Dragon I've got in the 250/251 campaign, but it is being a pain, like an old Italeri or Revell. Bunch of flash and fiddly-breaky parts. Plastics is a bit on the soft side, which surprised me just looking at it.

But I'm getting there.

Getting closer, together and painted the base coat, Ammo by Mig SCC No.3 Khaki Green. The plan is to use the Brown for the camo. To paint the bottom and frame, I left them apart, but getting them together after was a tight fit. I also replace the kit wheels with a set from DEF, the definitely look better then the rubber vinyl provided in the kit.

Small progress on the Stuart V this week. Cutting the MG barrel was a bigger challenge than the other ones for some reason...

Hey everyone,

Is it possible to jump into the campaign at this late date? I have the AFC 1/350 IJN I-58 that I would love to try.

What do you think, how about a floaty thing to change up the mix?

Cheers,
Bryan

Hi Gary,

There isn't an enlist button on the campaign page, I think it goes away once the campaign starts.

Hmmm...when I go to the campaign page it has an "unenlist" button...when I click it it switches to "enlist"...

That's because if you click on that link, and it takes you to that page, you're not logged into Armorama anymore.. Via that page.

If you'll just select the campaign tab up top of the page and find this campaign, then you can enlist.

It says "Un-enlist" because you were already enlisted in the campaign.

You can enlist in the last few days if you want. The button disappears once the campaign ends.

I knew that, I was just explaining the "enlist" button was there...;-)

Haven't made a start on this yet as I am currently working on models for 2 other campaigns.

I have a pair of models to choose from for this campaign:

a transparent T-34

and a Valentine mark II

Unfortunately both kits come with rubber band tracks, so I will be looking for some aftermarket ones that don't cost an arm and a leg(or as much as the kits cost anyway).

Bronco do some Valentine tracks that are reasonably priced in Aus, but so far I have only found fruil tracks for the T-34 which are only about $10 less than I paid for the kit.

The Valentine will probably be my primary build for this campaign, with the t34 as a potential bonus.

I am currently trying to build a number of Valentine's and derivatives, already have a bishop underway, just need to find an archer preferably not Bronco.
