Nice progress, guys.
Any fit problems on the Matador?
I am hoping to make progress on the Wiesel tonight. I managed to cut out the teeth from the PE fret. Tried a new blade in my X-Acto but that didn't seem to have any effect. I ended up using a wire cutter.
I also tried painting the wheels with NATO Green but it does look too dark. I will try some RLM80 Olive Green (as per instructions).
I still need to cut out those supports on the suspension arms, although they would be hidden behind the wheels.

Very slight progress on the Stuart V. Making the barrel for the .30 cal was the part that took the longest.

@Gary - so far, I have found no fit issues. I have found a few part numbers issues in the instructions, but that is it.

Paul,
Did you make a jig or use a piece of plastic strip to form the tie downs?

Jeff,
I put one end of the tie down under one of the fingers on one of my PE
bending tool and bent that side up. Then I created a form from copper sheet that was cut to the right width. The strips were stacked to the right height to act as a form and soldered together. I butted that form up against the piece clamped in the PE bender and used a straight edge to force the bends over the form. Since my examples weren't etched symmetrically I need tweezers to tweek everything into alignment.
I tried styrene strip as the form first, but it deformed very easily and produced sloppier bends.
I'm away from my bench, but if you need some pics I can make them this evening. Just let me know.
Hope this helps

Paul,
I would appreciate some photos. Thanks.
Jeff
I discovered that I do not have an AFV kit in my ready-rank (closet), but they are all in temporary storage. Once the temperature drops over the weekend I can go recover some of the kits. I had moved out most models to make room for contractors to build out 2nd floor of my house. Delays in finance department has slowed down the work. Hope to get something on this site in next couple weeks.

Jeff,
Misplaced original form so here is one I cobbled together from brass PE frets.

First bend

Place form against part...

Bend with straight edge...

Finished part...

Hope this helps!

I actually got a couple of hours at the workbench! Seems like forever since I worked on the Stuart even though it's only been 3-4 days. I spent the time
soldering together some of the turret exterior fittings.
Cheers,
PH

@ Cristian. Cuckoo, is probably the most accurate, but that has nothing to do with the PE... Thanks for the multi-use emoji and the nice comment
@ Clayton, I really glad you found the info useful!

Jeff,
Glad you found it useful. I do some things that are needlessly complicated, but I try to limit the insanity whenever I can.
Cheers
