Looking good, I will be following your post. Is the interior included with the kit or is it an aftermarket kit?

Wow, really nice build so far. It might seem like a small compliment, but I really like the effect you got with your sprockets on this one!

I was going to ask that too. If you closely at the sprue shots the light gray sprues are the interior parts. And the box cover side says detailed crew compartment. Might be an inexpensive alternative to Dragon and Rye Field.

Dragon don't have a Tiger kit with interior now.
Rye Field have one, and are planning another. Their current one is much more accurate than this Academy kit on the inside, and better on the outside too.

Very true. And I'm well aware Dragon doesn't have one with interior (and probably never will), but there is a considerable price difference between Academy Tiger w/interior, and Rye Field w/interior. Not everyone can, or want to, afford premium prices even though it's a premium kit. You can see several "silk purses" made from "sow's ears" here. (And I'm not calling Academy a "sow's ear".)

Thanks by all your comments
Actually when I bought this model the Rye Field did not exist. But I think the Academy is a good choice, you have to work a little, but hey, we'll see how it will be when I finish, I'll detail some add to the model
See you

It looks a little odd...refer to the S-mine diagrams at TIGER1.INFO
Those things were very rarely loaded up, in any case.

It's the first time I've ever seen the detail. I find it interesting. Do you have anecdotal evidence that they weren't loaded up prior to action? I mean, most photos we see of Tigers aren't combat action photos. Not trying to be a smarta55' but I have only read two German tankers memoirs and their writings were pretty detail-weak.
Did the driver and R/O have them stored in their positions for easy access in case of action or the imminent prospect of being overrun by hoardes of infantry?
Very curios,
Gaz

We can see them loaded up in a few photos of s.Pz.Abt.502 up in the north. Nowhere else have I ever noticed a loaded launcher. As you say, they would be present only in combat situations, but still I'd expect to see a few of them if they were used a lot.
One thing I do see, is the launchers getting bent by people standing on them, and not getting repaired.
So the general impression is that this weapon was not popular.
You certainly wouldn't keep the mines inside the tank and attempt to fit them when needed! Who wants to be fiddling with electrical wires and thumbscrews when under fire!

They look very good, but Griffon provide three arms protruding from the end of the fuse.
Those are pressure triggers and you would use them only when the mine is buried in the ground!
Firing from a Tiger was electrical.

Thanks David, is correct Mine are inserted incorrectly. Remove the fuses and put the electrical connection.
