I like female figures as much as the next guy.. but I'm wondering about the scale to do these in... 1/35 scale.. what are we going to use them with/for? They look fun to paint, though

I'm sure there's a market for them, especially in Asia, but I can't fathom any real use for them, except maybe the maids.

Ok these are kind of rediculous for armorama. I could only imagine what the wife would think if I bought these (and she'd be correct). If this stuff turns you on just go watch porn. My two cents...let the basement dwellers tie off.

Now, that's REALLY thinking outside the box ! MB must have released half a dozen of these female figure kits over the last couple of years. If they weren't good sellers I'm sure they would of stopped after the first couple of releases.

Somewhere (probably somewhere in Asia) these things will be flying off the shelves. To each his own.

Yes but...this is really raising the bar (or lowering it!). These look like Japanese Manga, almost kiddie porn style, judging from their youthful faces. What was MB thinking?

Lolis and kawaii? Now I gotta have these.
You do realize that Asian builders will put these all over their kits right? Hope they're planning on school girl uniform ones.
There is an entire culture around the world that loves this stuff. To dismiss it as kiddie porn is like calling armor model builders men who play with toy tanks.
Are these any worse than those old Phoenix Phollies figures some of us have stashed away? I remember several that reeked of BDSM and fetishism.

This release is more relevant to the Model geek or Historicus forums so why bother to criticise it from a military modelling viewpoint? Maybe they should start questioning the relevance and features of armour kit releases in a similar way.
And MB has a history of releasing unusual subjects (post-apoc survivor subjects for one) so wondering why they released this is about as useful out as wondering why Amusing Hobby releases panzer '46 subjects.

I probably would use them as a starting point for a figure kit bash . I can see two of them as Yvette and Marie , waiting for customers with the egg whisk and the flying helmet at Café Rene . All you Allo Allo fans will get the picture

Maybe my problem, but how on earth do you come from these funny figures to porn? To me it looks that in the USA showing a bare knee is already tricky! ( but maybe the standards will change after DT enters The Office?)
I guess the Masterbox staff sees a market for this kind of modelling. Why otherwise invest quite some mony in the moulds, marketing etc.

Considering that the box tops are labeled in Japanese, these are definitely intended primarily for the Asian market. There they will be quite happy to festoon their JSDF type 74 with kawaii girls ando put maids on their PLA tank.
Masterbox also has some 1/24 scale fantasy mounted figures coming. And the sprues of the World War I cavalry are up on jp.1999 and thE variants include the 1914 British uniform and line German hussars uniforms. Now that's news.

Have to agree.
Don't see the point to them.

See a shrink?
Why?
Because your style is not somebody else' style?
Rather arrogant IMO.
I am sure that all the effort it took to be able to market these figures has been carefully reviewed by the producers.
Maybe the whole point lays in the fact that the definition of 'decent' and/or 'porn' in the USA at one side and Asia and Europe at the other show quite a gap.
And than one may carefully conclude that if you start to get erotic feeling by seeing these figures you may be way of a sound psychological status.
These figures are intended to be FUN, nothing more, nothing less....

I have to say that I find people's reactions to these and similar figures kind of strange.. I mean, the guys who talk about having children.. do you take those children to the beach where they can see all the string bikinis and all the "flesh" they can see?
And I agree with Paul.. if you look at something like this and see porn, then I seriously don't know what to say
Is it really OK to love models of war machines that kill people and destroy whole countries... but it's not OK to look at a figure of a girl in a short skirt?!
Don't mean no offense to anyone.. it's just that some things don't make sense to me

AGREE, MOST EMPHATICALLY!!!
What ANY modeller chooses to buy and/or display in his/her own home is ENTIRELY UP TO THEM, and NO ONE ELSE!!! Just because certain people among us don't necessarily agree with the CONTENT of these figure kits, or for that matter, THE INTENTIONS of the manufacturer, for which some of you are merely conjecturing over, this doesn't mean that ALL modellers who create anything outside of ARMORAMA's field of interest should be penalized, derided, or denegrated, MYSELF INCLUDED!
I happen to be an AVID Figure Modeller, and within that particular niche, my fields of interest reach far and wide. I model Figures in 1/48, up to and including 120mm. To summarily pronounce these new MASTERBOX figure sets as a "New Low" or "The Bottom of the Barrel", is not only narrow-minded, but INSULTING to Figure Modellers, in general!
In my opinion, these figures pose no "moral hazards", as FAR WORSE can be seen on regular "Prime Time" TV, as well as daytime "soap operas", and "reality entertainment". These figures are NO WORSE than what you might see on TV, or in a comedy-play on Broadway or even in a High School...

Can we just let this topic die a quiet death? I think we all understand both viewpoints and we all knew in advance what the arguments would be and that there would be a clear division of opinions.

I've always found it kind of strange how a subject like this (even though it's my thread) attracts a whole bunch of comments that sometimes go on for several pages... whereas a purely modelling related subject (or a member showing his work) might only attract a couple of comments by a couple of people!

Don't have much of a use for these but they seem an awfully smart business decision. Have you seen how many Fine Molds and other kits have been rereleased with girls and Panzer anime themes? These will sell plenty of sets.

How does my personal opinion represent the the United States of America? Hate Americans and our 2nd amendment much? I'll bet your grand mother loved Americans...while your Grandfather hid in a closet and the German army rolled over your country. Pretty fed up with ungrateful countries like yours blaming all the world's problems on us. A simple thank you for us saving your sorry ass will suffice. Now... want to bring it back to just model building jackass?
