Your sofa is a wonderful idea and I would definitely leave it,specially now that you added the x box stuff.
The whole scene is really great and I love the "dew pot" with the curtain.
I would find some thinner wire for the x box controls though. They look like steel cable right now. If you get an old electric extension cord and cut it open there are very fine copper wires to use ?

HI Jerry!!!

Thanks for your words!! The wires are too thick but it´s just to see how the idea looks. I have already found a thinner wires at home for the xbox controlers and tv power supply also.

Thanks again for comment and watch!

As Taylortony commented in the previous reply, I have made a bog roll for the toilet. This is the result:

Not much room for take good pictures. I'll try to shot some pics using a boroscope.

Now I'm working on the TV, a play station (or something like that) and the wiring.

Cheers!!

Dave, thank you so much for your words. Very appreciated. I know some modern gear due to my other hobby, the airsoft, where I reenact the 5th Special Forces Group.

I'm glad you like it, thanks for watching!

Thanks Alex, I'm glad you like the dio.

I guess that SF soldiers don't mind about the toilet. Maybe they call for any regular army private to clean it, hahaha.

Merci beaucoup!

Well, I have made some advances and it's getting closer to the final leg. I've finished the tv, the prisioner and some little stuff. I have also made a shelf at the entrance where soldiers leave/pick some gear. You could see some Fast helmets, some PRCs on its pouches and some mags also.

Finally, I want to show you how it would finally be displayed (maybe some little adjustmets, but this is the idea)

At this time I have moved the soldiers and prisioner a bit, and now they are closer to the front and thighter.

Hope you like, and any comment would be appreciated.

Cheeers!

Hi guys!

I´ve been working on my last figure for the dio. I have made another Green Beret wearing jeans and a Ranger Green Combat shirt.

I started with the jeans, pistol holster and pouches.

Next, combat shirt and vest

And this is the final result. Picture is not very focused, damn!

Next thing is finish some little details and the outside area. Maybe next weekend.....

Cheers!!

Wow! Some incredible details in this diorama. Great work. The only thing that I find that may not be plausible is the SF Operators bringing the prisoner into their "home". Some teams may do that, but I don't personally know of any who would do this. I'm not SF, but I have worked with several SOF personnel and units. I wouldn't let any of my unit's HVTs anywhere near where my unit lived, where weapons are stored, nor near anyplace where they might hear something that may be of good intel to the bad guys if for some reason he was released (it happens). Just something to think about before you do your final set up of your figures. Prisoners or detainees are usually brought to a designated area away from living and TOC areas. The Intelligence dudes usually have a place for you to bring them when you pick them up. I'm not trying to be overly critical, just presenting some info from a different perspective and it is something you can either take into consideration or not. If one doesn't do this everyday, one may not know. Also, procedures vary from unit to unit, so there might be one that would bring a prisoner into their team area, I just wouldn't. Other than that, everything looks awesome.

Again, Great Work!

Cheers,
James

Hi Recon!!!

Your first hand info is very appreciated!!! I know that having a detainee in your own house could be very dangerous. The main idea for the dio is that SF have captured a HVT and the Team Leader is talking by phone just to know what to do with the prisioner.

I wanted to make a small dio, so if I´d add a detentior area, the dio would be bigger than I wanted. I fact, a friend of mine is making and adjacent dio (for the left side as you seen mine) with a shooting range and some spare time facilities.

The worst of all is that figures are already glued and I cannot move them.

I really appreciate your words, mainly because I have made this idea without many info, jus my "knowledge", so having a first hand info from a veteran like you is very very appreciated.

Thanks for posting. I´m glad you like it.

Cheers!!!

Really enjoying watching this progress - thank you for sharing the pictures etc.

Your attention to the little details is really what makes this for me - very creative and it totally sets a believable scene. Love the games console and TV, the cluttered desk, worn out sofa, toilet etc - all looks authentically 'lived in'.

And the dusty weathering on the quad is awesome - would like to know more about how you did that.

Have seen a similar diorama before - which was obviously done by a very skillful modeler and the execution is amazing - but think the little details you have worked into yours makes it more appealing.

Here's a few pics in case it gives you any further inspiration

Hi, J!!

Man, I´m so happy with your words!! I´m very glad you like it, thanks a lot.

That dio you showed is the one I got inspiration for. It´s awesome. Mine is light years from this, I think it´s so amazing how he made all the stuff and how he filled all the space avaliable. I wish I could finish mine something similar.

About the dust in the quad, it´s made with Vallejo pigments. First, I apply a gentle amount of pigments and fix it with white spirit. Once white spirit has dried I apply some more pigments and then apply matt barnish. Hope you understand how I make it, maybe I´m not so good explaining the process in english.

Thanks again for watching, posting and for your words.

Cheers!!

Well, everything comes to a end, and this dio is at its end. Last weekend I´ve been working on the outside, adding some sand, small rocks and some pigments to dye the sand. I´ve also added some stuff like a garbage container, two barrels and a pallet. I´ve also fixed the door.

Some pics of the outside:

Now, a picture from above, just before adding an aluminium profile at the edges.

And that´s it. A general view of the scene. A soon as I could, I´ll shot some pictures with daylight.

Thanks for watching, gents!

Nacho.

THIS is frakking imPRESSive. what I like about it is it's not as cluttered as what inspired you. VERY well executed. as for what someone else had mentioned, is it possible the prisoner could have been an indigenous worker who got caught where he SHOULDN'T have been, with the operative on the phone letting the intel dudes know there's someone worth having a conversation" with? this reminded me of some scenes in Zero Dark Thirty

Thanks for taking the time to post that - thought it looked like pigments but you got a really great finish for such a simple technique - so wondered if it was something more complex!

Looking forward to the daylight pics of the finished diorama ...

Thanks, Recon! I'm sorry about not taking your advices, but the main idea was already done. You should know that the bad guy is the real bad guy that this ODA was looking for so he's not going to be released

Thank you for watching and posting!

Hey man! Thanks a lot! I'm really glad you like it.

As I said in the previous post, the bad guy is not any indigenous. At least, this was my first, and definitive, idea for the dio. The Team Leader is in fact talking to the HQ to know what to do with the prisioner. This is what I wanted to represent.

And yes, Zero Dark Thirty has similar scenes. Great movie, of course!

Cheers!!

Don't mention it. It's a pleasure to help. Thanks again for your words. I forgot to tell you that I used also white spirit with a bit of oil paint (dark earth) for some parts so I could dye the pigments a bit darker.

I have to wait until the weekend for the pics, so I hope to shot them on saturday.

Best regards!
