Hi folks!
I wanna show you the dio I´m actually working on. The main idea is to build a FOB somewhere in Afghanistan. The main characters are a Special Forces Team with a taliban prisioner. Timelime would be around 2009.
This is the original concept. At this time, some changes have been made.
Due to a mobile crash, I´ve lost some pictures of the proceedings, so the next pictures I have are these. Walls and some working bench fixed. Wiring is for some lamps I´ll connect later.
Detail for the weapons loading table.
One of the changes I made to the original idea was to make a door. In fact, I made the door because a friend of mine is going to make an adjacent dio representing a shooting range.
The next item I got was a working bench. Some paint, some weathering and some dust before put it on its place.
Just aside the working bench, I put the batteries holder and I had to use an electrical resistance for the lights on/off switch.
Once the bench is on its place, some stuff was added
This is a general overview of the working zone.
Now, I´m working in the operations area, so I´ve made a table with maps, info, etc and a notice board (not fixed yet)
(the pic just on the right of USB is a friend of mine )
Of course, the Quiet Professionals have to rest too, so I made a sofa for the spare time.
That´s all for now. Actually I´m working on some figures and waiting for some stuff Santa has to leave under the tree.
Comments would be very appreciated. So please let me know if you would change/add/remove something. ANyway, I hope you like it.
Thanks for watching!!!
Nacho.

Thanks for your comments!! As soon as I have any update, I´ll post it.
As I said in the main post, now I´m working on the figures (I´m afraid that is my weak point). Santa will leave a Yamaha ATV so it will be the next.
Cheers!

As was written above - great and unusual idea for a little dio I like all small stuff lying here and there. Keep on good work.

Hi there!!
A small update I could make yesterday. BDU jacket painted in Desert 3C and pants also. There´s hand (printed) made patches on the sleeve pockets, operator ID and reversed flag (not a good picture due to the flash).
Someday I´ll learn how to paint figures. At this time, I think this is the best I can do. Feedback would be appreciated.
As soon as possible I´ll try to shot some pictures in daylight. Tomorrow I´ll paint the weapon for this figure and maybe the hands.
Hope you have a nice holydays!!

Finally I could finish the first figure for the dio. It´s a Green Beret, callsing SF-01, handling an M4 with M203.This is my first 1/35 figure painted ever. I tried to apply the technics I´ve been reading over the net. Not an amazing finish, but at least, I´m quite happy with the result. I think I have done my best.
Hope you like it.
Now I´m working onthe next buddy, which wears a Desert 3C pants and a Woodland jacket (as Op.Red Wings heroes). I´ll post any picture as soos as I could.
Hope you have a great night with your loved ones. Best wishes.

It's coming along very well! Best of new years to you as well.
Maybe a horizontal stripe of dark gray across the top of the eyes to take away some of the pop eyed look?

Hi, Jerry. Thanks for your comments. I have applied your advice with the dark grey and the figure looks better. Thanks!

Glad to help. I learned about this a long time ago from Shep Paines' very good book on figure painting.

Hi folks!!
New update for the dio. I've made another vending machine. Not much work at all, but these days (still Christmas in Spain until today) I've been busy with family.
It's not fixed yet until I receive a WC that I'd place at the left of the vending machines.
A general overview
That's all for now. Next in line would be this.
I'll start to work on it ASAP.
Cheers!!!

I hope to post new updates for the end of the weekend. I guess I would be able to finish the ATV, the shopping cart and a WC bowl just received yesterday.

Hi gents!!
Jerry, thanks for your words!!
I have made some progress and I've finished the ATV and the shopping cart. The shopping cart has been the most dificult to make so far. In fact, it's not very good made. I've put two targets inside it, as if they would be for the shooting range.
A close up for the atv.
That's all for now. Hope you like it. Thanks for watching!

This is all such cool stuff ! That shopping cart rocks ! It is so nice that there are now so many things available for modern subjects and it's not all about WWII any more.
I also love the atv and I want one !

Hi Jerry!! I´m glad you like it. You´re right when you say that now there´s a lot of modern stuff. But just for 1/35. For my previous diorama (1/72), I got mad looking for cool stuff, and I had to get it in HO train scale.
The ATV is so cool, I think it´s an original piece for the dio.
Thanks again for watching!!

Hi David! Thanks for your comments. The ATV is from a czech producer, MMK. His website is www.mmk.cz.

Hi gents! Let's go for the weekend!
I have new updates for the FOB. I have finally finished the "bathroom". It's a WC bowl and the tank (handmade with milliput). Once I finished the toilet, I was able to set the vending machines, notice board, water and coke boxes......
So I go with the pics so you can see how it's all set.
The toilet berore setting the walls
Now, seen from above. Some playboy magazines over there and one big poster on the wall.
And now some general overviews.
Now I'm concerned about where to set the sofa. Or even put it away from the dio. There are three figures to be done yet. One is displayed in the pics but unpainted, the other one would be the taliban prisioner (he will be set surrounded by the soldiers) and the last one will be another soldier peeing in the toilet.
I'd like to know your opinions about the sofa or if you would change the display.
Thanks for watching and happy weekend! Cheers.

Hi folks,
I have solved my doubts about the sofa. I´m gonna make something like this:
Wires are not in the perfect scale, they´re just to make the idea, and TV would be a 42" flat screen. I´m working on it right now. This is what I´ve made (not finished yet):
Then, I´d use a x-box controllers from an EOD figures to leave over the sofa and I´ll print some picture for the screen.
Now, I think I can fill some empty spaces in the scene and make the sofa more atractive..
Hope you like!!
Cheers.
