time for a little update...been bz travelling back and forth... little time to play with this build

so i continue with the show with washes and streaking effects. Both were done by using AK Interactive OIF/OEF washes and streaking effect. Minimal chipping is also done. I dont know if chipping is likely to happen in this vehicle or most modern vehicle. Regardless, i felt empty if the vehicle is not weathered to the bone.. LOL
And dry fitted everything.
i made a simple base, using plater or paris mix with sand.








Next is the 'tempered glass'. Painted with tamiya clear green, very diluted mix. And then i applied sharpie along the edges.


then dryfitted the glass onto the vehicle.









The windshield are missing from the shot. Will update next.
What is left to do is just a few more steps which include
1. Putting the antenna and wiring
2. Rear door hydraulics
3. detailing the top hatches hydraulics
4. More tarps/tents and what not
5. Getting spare shackles to be mounted underneath the front chassis.
6. side mirrors
7. windshield and wipers
8. ISAF sign
9. Finish the base

Time for small update...

There are lots so small update that i did but too small to notice...

Some of the update..

The 4 hydraulic arms that were fitted onto the top hatches..
I scratchbuild the device by using handphone usb cable insulator and no.2 guitar string...



Then they were fitted onto the hatches...the bracket on the hull n hatches were done long time ago by using plastic strips.





Will try to finished this by this weekend..

Thanks Bob, Roy and Eric for your kind words...glad that u like it. In the matter of facts it was your rg31 build, Bob that inspired me.

Time for some little update.
As mentioned earlier, i printed the ISAF warning sign. I trace the design and retype all the words in adobe illustrator.
I gave it some weathering using tamiya make up set...and attached to the front using metal cable as photo reference.

Err i think the sign is a little bigger. What do you think guys...should i make it small.and reprint?

So another question, where do the crew put the sign in the rear of the vehicle? I cant find photo reference.

Great work, the sign being that low off the bumper , it would end up being bent up quite fast. They came in all sizes.

Hi fellas..happy weekend..
Time for a little update..

Basically all the major elements are completed. What's left are some small details i.e jerry cans, water bottles, tarps n antenna



I misted heavily thinned tamiya buff and spray at high pressure onto the windshield.


Not so dusty but enough ...

While driving on sunday morning found this on the road side



Feels like wanna send the rg31 in , but wifey gave the look...weekend humour, cant help it...

Hi fellas armorama..happy weekend.
As promised i will share the completed photos of this build.
Before that i would like to thank once again to all members here that inspired and help with this build.
Overall, I'm having fun with this build. The kit itself is good in term of fitting. With the exception of the confusing manual, i think this kit is fantastic.

Ok, so here we go

Photo setup just a simple standalone probe with remote mode and plenty of sunlight inside a photo booth.
