Yup, the greedy buggers finally got to me too even though I haven't posted anything in months. Now for a test of something new.

All my old buildlogs are now dead and I would assume that they took out lots of others.
Personally I decided to leave this forum last year so I would be posting anything new and only came back to make this comment but it's a real shame for the community.
Bye all, shame my legacy of build logs is gone

Can you posted a quick tutorial how you posted your image using Flickr? If it's easier to PM me please do. Cheers!

Just a quick one. The petition although only clocking at 600 signers has had press attention

I have also sent several tech service memos to PB stating that there should be a low cost option for non-profits and hobbyists. Have received polite replys saying that these are the terms of their new policy.

Hi
I have been hit buy PB as well and all my pictures removed.
Would it be possible for Armorama to do photo posting on their site like a couple other forums that I visit that have direct link to your hard drive photos to up load.
In Canada Kijiji has direct link to post pictures when you are selling something.
If this was possible we would not not need sites like Photo Bucket and our pictures would stay there always so when you check an old post no more " X " for the pictures.
This is the second time it's happened to me. The first time was when Photoshop went private.
Cheers,
Ralph

What do you mean "removed"? Your photos should still be in your Photobucket Album, they (PB) just blocked hosting. You can download your images from Photobucket back to your PC.
Did you try http://photos.kitmaker.net/ ?
Also, I don't understand "Photoshop went private". Photoshop is a graphic design software made published by Adobe.

Well for what it's worth, the webmaster over at Track-Link has made an intriguing suggestion which is to host your own images through GoDaddy.com and for a nominal fee will help you write the needed code (for the computer illiterate like me). Giving this some serious consideration.

You will all be happy to hear that editing posts is now possible no matter how old or whether or not they are blog-type posts.
I am not sure we will keep this policy in effect long term, but for the time being you can all edit posts and replace pictures or hosting with new options.
I will be looking at what we can do down the road to offer easier photos options for users making posts in the forum. Something new and different needs to happen to keep forums relevant and that has been on my mind a lot more lately.
Thanks for your patience in this matter.
Cheers,
Jim

Jim you might want to publish this on the main page, if not done already.

So...
I use The Bucket for my pic's here...
I got the "You've been bad, you must pay e-mail".
But all my photos are still up - I didn't get the the PB image that replaces them.
Whats the deal w/ that ?

I only had 98 photos on PB and I got the nastygram from them today. Pay up or you don't post up! So, they got me too. I deleted my account with some nasty suggestions in the comments box.
Went to Imgur and it's smooth sailing. Easy to use, too.

Hi Ivan
I meant to say all my pictures that I had in my forums posting have been removed and PB wants a ridiculous price for third party posting.
Their web site stinks now when I enlarge the pictures it gives me the same message for third party why.
In my haste to post I posted the wrong photo host. It should have been Webshots that changed to Smile and now is Webshots again. I just tried to log in again and it said all my pictures from the free account have been deleted and I should open a new account.
Cheers,
Ralph

Arg... that's odd I tested it on a post I had not access to edit. Oh... duh I probably didn't ACTUALLY hit the edit button (only saw the button and assumed I could edit it).
I can fix the other issue now. I must have a secondary check on the next page for expired replies for people who tried to go right to the page sans button.
Cheers,
Jim

Hi Jim,
unfortunately, it doesn't seem to work for me. When I click the Edit button, it just opens the blank page (Armorama logo and adds are all there, just doesn't open the topic where I could delete PB photos and replace them with ones now on Imgur.

Hi James, I just recently signed your started petition and hope that works.
Guys, meanwhile looking for some other alternatives, don't close your PB account. Hope that PB management get our attention by James' effort, who knows?
But honestly, I still sad with all happened to my posted forum topics with pictures since ALL of them linked to PB.
Regards from Indonesia,
Garry

Hi Jim,
Just for anticipation, beside following James Cann's idea of petition, I have a painful plan to duplicate all of my pics into another photo hosting account just like almost all of you guys. After that, my effort will be continued with fixing any missing picture links. I already check my started forum post and already see 'Edit' button there.
But for how long the edit button will be available?
Since I'm planning spend my weekend now with my family and after doing so, I may be available to do such fixation. I just worried if I return to my PC, the button is already disappear.
So many thanks Jim!
Warm regards from Indonesia,
Garry

I don't use PB but I love searching modelling sites for pics and wip and it amazes me how many times and on many sites that PB has ruined so many threads. Its like now when you search for something nearly 99% of pics are "Pinterest" and they want you to log in. Google now placing ads before searches, I know I am getting old but it seems the internet is run by fewer and fewer companies if you know what I mean and is being turned into a business.Sorry for the rant but I would like to change the direction the world is heading in
I remember a few maybe ten years ago (LOL) when you typed in google something you pretty much found it straight away without having to deal with Pinterest, not so much anymore.
