Mark, thanks for the nice comment. Having built several other Pak 40s, this one is nicely detailed, and assembly was error free.

Hi, Bill!
The cannon looks great. Congratulations.
As for the artillery prime mover, the engine covers on the sides will be open.
Good luck!

Little more progress on that KV II. Detail throughout the lower half is great. Now I'm torn as to whether to paint the lower hull now, then add the link and length tracks or add the tracks last.

Pretty neat to see various modelers subjects and progress.

Cheers!

Angel, your ATS looks fantastic. Nice addition with the artillery piece.
Chuck, good start on the KV. It's a coin flip, but I like to paint and build as I go on a kit.

Good luck everyone on their projects. Bill

Wow, this is a big beast.
It's probably bigger than the prime mover.
Very good model.
I like!

Progress with the hull. First time for me to build a modern artillery piece. It's freaking huge. The fit is pretty sketchy though. Had to unglue several parts and repair the damage because of alignment issues (some caused by my own carelessness) - definitely not a shake and bake kit.

The artillery is looking good. Can't wait to see this completed.

Way to go.

A little more progress on the KV-II. Just started the upper hull and found a few very small gaps on either side where the sides joint the front plate, so we had to do a little plaster session. n Then I had to reduce a lip on the vertical plate on the left side using a little strip of sheet plastic. I'll need to replicate some of the weld seams on the front glacis plate.

More work on the upper hull. This time I'm dry fitting the upper rear hull plate. I'll probably finish up replicating the weld line in the first before returning to complete attaching the rear upper hull plate.

Angel, the accompanying artillery piece is freaking huge.
Nigel, cool looking self propelled howitzer.
Chuck, hey, it wouldn't be a model build if everything fit perfectly. Hahaha. Good luck my friend.

Kalin, great start on your Sd.Kfz. 8.

Angel, fantastic ATS-712, it's going to look great weathered and paired up with the the KS-19M2. As a matter of fact, I have that AA gun in the stash and will be following your build with intense interest. It sure is impressively huge.

Bill, nice progress on your Marder.

David, looking forward to your THAAD build.

Nigel, cool AS-90 build. Too bad you had to fight with it but everything looks well aligned now.

Chuck, good work on the KV-II.

My T-64BV is going together well with no fit issues. I've finished the hull except for the tracks and the side skirts, which I'll do after I've painted the running gear. Unlike Bill, I'm not really a fan of painting while I'm building but since many if not most Cold War/Modern MTBs have side skirts, there's not really any way around it. Here's where it stands as of today:

Have fun everyone,

Jerry

Thanks for all the encouragement fellas.
@Chuck – Nice progress on the KV-2. Have the same kit in my stash… come to think of it – I’ve been meaning to build the thing! Might do so once I finish this AS-90

@jbranca – looking forward to your build of the T-64. I have the T-64B and T-80BV kit and I’m still not that great with photo-etch.
@Angel – Nice work on the towed gun! I’ve never built one of those things… looking at yours is making me reconsider.
Here’s my progress last night with the AS-90. Put on the tracks and wheels for dry-fitting along with the gun. This thing is probably the biggest kit I’ve handled so far (mostly because I’ve do WW2 stuff and the occasional Leopard and Abram). I’m hoping that I don’t need to clean up the gun barrel too much. Will be priming her soon – hope I don’t uncover any nasty surprises!

Jerry, the molding quality on your kit is BEAUTIFUL!
Angel, the tractor and artillery piece look fantastic together. A real show stopper!
Nigel, good work on your self propelled howitzer....it's going together quickly.
Keep up the awesome work fellow modelers.

Update on my Marder I.

Working on the fighting compartment. The kit has a good amount of detailing in here.

Paintwork on the fighting compartment is complete. All the components are ready for assembly. Having a blast on this build.
Bill

Full Disclosure: The parts required a lot of test fitting and modification. The kit's instructions are ambiguous in many areas.

Bill,

Excellent weathering on the subassemblies. Gotta love that grime.

Cheers!
