I have always been interested in prototypes and one-off tanks, so the idea of tanks with alternative turrets really appeals to me. Takom and Dragon have kits that use the AMX 13 turret and hull to create these vehicles:
AMX 13 hull & chaffee turret,
M4a4 Sherman & AMX 13 turret
and then I ran across this Frankentank while researching the AMX hull w/Chaffee turret:
I thought of the idea for this thread a little while ago when Henri-Pierre posted a photo of an M48 turret on a Merkava I hull that I had never heard of. There seem to be quite a few of these test vehicles (well, mostly test vehicles...) so Please, post any photos you might have, or come across here.

Here are Amphibs that fall into the one-off/unique hulls with different turrets.
LVTEX (LVTP7 predecessor) with M551 turret and 105mm gun. I’m slowly making progress on one of these in 1/72.
AAVP7A1 with Elbit remote 30mm weapons station.

Well, not quiet tanks, but the turret is definitely not native to the hosting vehicle...

Wow David, I had not seen that one, do you have any more references on that particular vehicle?
Here is another LVT, which ties in with my first post with another use of the Chaffee turret:
Here are the photos of the Patton turret on a Merkava that I spoke of earlier:
Your'e right Israel, those don't really count because they aren't tanks, boy those must be sooo top heavy! I drive a truck as part of my job, and I'm glad I don't have to drive one of those around, especially with someone shooting at me!

The Cuban "cabriolet" version ....
Oh my g....
Maybe not qualified for this theme but still cool
Don't tell Dragon about this one ...
http://imgur.com/uF3Jpjk in case direct linking doesn't work ..
Some claim that this is a fake. I don't know ....
Edit: See Frenchys post below. He shows that it is a fake
And now for something completely different:
labeled as battle damage to a Tiger II shown at the La Gleize museum ...
And this is completely off the rails ..
maybe it might just possibly have worked if they had added some kind of jacks to take the firing recoil.

PS : Hi Robin. The T-34 with a huge gun in your post is a fake indeed...
Here's the one it's based on :
From Iraq :
OT-62 + Cascavel turret :
Sheridan + 76mm gun :
or a 105mm :
or a Stingray turret :
M41 + Sheridan turret :
Uruguayan M41 with a 90mm gun :

Info and images are hard to come by for the LVTEX. I have picture or two I took without it’s turret running up and down the beach from when it was still at AVTB. Other than that I may have one or two more pics in the collection somewhere, I included the only other that was easy/at hand.
Another one off was the LVTAAX-1. An LVTP5 hull with and M42 anti-aircraft turret.

I guess so...But I'm no expert
AFAIK, the T-55/Hellcat hybrid was the only one of its kind.

Ding Hao already did some reboxes of the AFV club kits with parts to make said conversion.

Thanks. These will be a good backup in case I get stuck on my own conversion

Maybe not exactly fitting to this thread, but:
This is a Pz.Kpfw IV Ausf.G late with a Soviet Zis-3 gun mounted instead of the original gun.
The conversion was done in the late 40's/early 50's and the "hybrid" was used as a static AT pilbox in "Krali Marko" defense line on the southern border of Bulgaria during the Cold War.
Today it is on display at Yambol's Museum of Battle Glory.
