A little work on the front and back of the upper hull on the Takom Merkava 1 this weekend:

I painted a strip of plastic sheet black and stuck it behind the exhaust to prevent see through. I painted the exhaust baffles first. We'll see how it turns out.

I tried to upload two images but it failed and they are stuck in my upload queue. Cant do anything now...
I cant find a way to purge them - do you know how?
TJ
I think your image was too big. I just tried to upload a very big image and got an HTTP 500 error (Webpage could not be displayed) and now it seems I also have an 1 stuck in my upload queue. I will have to see if I can unload it from my queue.
Just in case, I will also try emailing Jim Starkwhether as I think getting the HTTP 500 error message should not happen.
Update:
The good news is, it doesn't matter if something is in your upload queue. You can upload an image of appropriate size (less than 3MB) and it doesn't matter if it thinks there is something in your queue.

Another shelf queen limps across the finish line.
Nitto's 1/20 SF3D Prowler, probably a 10yr WIP. Found at 85% done when I went looking for stencils for ANOTHER stalled project..
Now it's posed in an old picture frame, on the Uschi Soviet Airfield concrete and I'm trying to work out what I like best for 'set dressing'

Mike,
How about this one but with the boxes where the round things are?

Tom,
Thanks, I will give it a whirl later this evening.
The downside to the picture frame is that I have to work with a set amount of 'footprint' and there is a lot of dead space without the fiddly bits.

I finished brushing the hard edges. The red brown took 2 coats and the olive green took 5 coats. However, there are no brush marks with Life Color. I then sprayed in the field. I am still learning how to spray Life Color. It behaves differently than Tamiya or Model Master. My next step will be to touch up the paint overspray.

Wow, after life got in the way of Workhorses and Crusader to Gazala, I'm going to have a place to sit down and finish the stuff I have in progress...hopefully.
Do I need a life? Nope. It would just get in the way of the models.

Long time modeller. Starting when I was a teenager, then I found out about girls and college and work and kids. But now that I have one girl, no school, no work and the kids are grown, I'm back to full time modelling. My prime area of interest is armor, b

Some progress on the Takom Merkava Mk.1. Tracks on and hull halves together. Man, those tracks were a tight fit!

Unfortunately you kind of have to do it this way due to that small side flap at the front being molded to the top hull, thus making it impossible to fit the tracks after the hull halves are joined.
Turret coming up soon!

Calling this one done as well.
It's an ancient shelf queen of a beast, not my finest work, but it's done, I'm happy with it. I'll bring it to Armorcon later this month.
The magnets in the feet and in the board behind the printed base are not strong enough and leave it a bit pigeon-toed. I'll pop them out and glue it to the base.

Now to polish off some more recently started armor for that show too. Something LESS than 10yrs on the go..

I'm more or less done the Chompbot and its base. The only thing I have left to do is sculpt and paint some dead Evil Vegetables to put in a stack of bodies. I got the first round of sculpting done on the Evil Carrot last night, and discovered that I'm not much of a sculptor. I will try to refine the sculpt a bit with files and putty and hobby knives, and hopefully some careful painting will hide the remaining flaws.
The other 2 armatures will become an Evil Asparagus and and Evil Radish, if I don't give up in disgust after this first one.

Hello,
I couldn’t finish my second pz iv for the workhorses campaign by the deadline, so here I am. The first photo below shows the kit dry-fitted. In the pictures below that, you see it in pieces. The track and all the wheels will have to come off for painting. Happy days!

Cheers
Matthew

Howdy Y'all
I've finally decided what to build. This model is finished but I'd like to take it further.

I plan to add filters, tow cable, and decals. The decals will be for a KV-II that was captured during Operation Barbarossa. The decals come from Kagero's "Operation Barbarossa 1941" book. I love these books.

This model was one of my early attempts to use "modulation" painting techniques. I'm not satisfied so I've got my work cut out for me.
Take care,
Don "Lakota"

I'm into self-punishment by not leaving a kit untouched by the modification monster...and this one looks right up my alley!

Took both of my entries here to Armorcon this weekend and did all right.
I still have not had a chance to go over the judges sheets, but the ZSD90 got a bronze in Modern Armor and the Prowler got a silver in Sci-fi.
