Kalin, that's just beautiful. If one can use that word when describing a truck... Well done.

Great work Kalin. The wood texture on the planks and boxes looks real. Thanks for joining in.

The cab of the MAN 5T truck is starting to come together.

The front and roof are dry-fitted in the pictures below. I've still got some stuff to do in the cab before putting the windows in closing everything up...

Hairspray. I was worried that I got a little heavy handed with it; but I don't it turned out too terrible for my first time.

I've still got to finish the cargo bed this weekend.

More progress on the Revell-Germany MAN 5t Mil gl

The roof on the cab has not been glued on yet since I still haven't put the windows in yet. The wheels, mirrors and rear mud-skirts will be applied when I'm done because I'm a bit clumsy.

Time to start my build for this campaign:

Opel Blitz 3,6-6700A

Will use Italeri's S kit, PlusModels Blitz A type conversion set, Eduard's PE and MiniArts Czech hedgehogs for load.

Using this picture as a refference

will model a truck from Bulgarian First Army, delivering hedgehogs for hastily organized AT defensive line during Operation Spring Awakening-Hungary/March 1945.

I was sure they'll be noticed, BogiBg

I've seen horns

or birds:

-even "modelled" by secured handgranades

being present on the radiator grilles of various Bulgarian military vehicles of that era. That seems to have been some sort of fashion with the drivers.

Will think how to model them.

Looking very nice Richard. First timers usually go overboard, but I see (unlike me) you resisted nicely.

I think they maybe compensating for something Angel.

Well it is a small vehicle they have crammed that big skull onto.

Looking forward to your take on the Blitz

Thanks Peter! I still think I may have gotten a little heavy handed with the chipping. We'll see what the finished product looks like though. I've got the day off tomorrow so I'm hoping to get the decals finished and clear-coated.

I'm still having a problem with the vinyl tires looking like they were coated with Armor-All. I've thought about painting them; but I'm worried it would all just flake off.

Hi Richard. Have you tried using a kitchen scourer on them? This type:

My Meng Husky TSV tyres one untouched (left) one scrubbed (right)

Thanks Peter!

Paraphrasing Hanlon's razer: Never attribute to malice that which is adequately explained by laziness

Sure there was a bit of sanding required to fit the resin to the styrene.

Yet the big sanding is underway now...
Unlike Tamiya's Blitz, the Italeri's one has the high-walled load bed, that I've only seen on one out of probably 100 pictures of Bulgarian Blitz trucks. And these planks are too narrow...

Thus I decided to go for load bed walls, made of wood.

Best part is- I'm alone home now, so there are no "pets" complaining about flying wooden dust

Well, I think the white glue has set, so back to the walls
Need to finish sanding-and wipe away all evidences-before my ladies are back,

Looking good so far Angel.
Until yesterday I was doing OK with my last, unfinished model for this campaign. I made my entry on January 13th, waited for two months for Plus model Engine set and finally I started painting two days ago.

And then I noticed that the truck I intend to build is, actually, 4X4 version. So, back to the drawing board... I have to put hood back on this model, (already in progress)

make new cargo bed and make new entry for my hoodles 4X4 one. So, this will be the "year of the blitz" for me...

Sh_t happens, Bogi...

Your work on that PlusModels engine is really top notch(I see the kit is Tamiya, so shake and bake, no challenge for you).

I've built sofar 4 Blitzes in various Kfz. types(KOM,S type,S type Special Body and Tankwagen), now I'm building my 5th-and not my last- I lack an Einheitskoffer Werkstattwagen...

But when I'll build it-I'll buy PlusModel's engine for it

Looking forward to your next Blitz instalment

Thanks Angel. Actually, the model is Dragon. But it's easy to fit Plus Model bits in Dragons engine bay. I would like to see your take on it, since I don't plan adding pipes, cables and wires.

Angel, Bogi, I think you should make Opel brand advertisers. Good luck. I look forward to the sequel.

Yeah...Dragon are also doing the Blitz, my mistake

I'll add some super detailing to the engine in my next Blitz build-in this one, the engine won't be visible, except from bellow(oil pan and clutch/gearbox housings).

I might try out Denpromodel's Blitz 3,6L engine-I have some of their Ford V3000 parts in my stash and I find quality of resin and casting to be on par with PlusModel's.
Off course using Dnepromodel's kit instead of PlusModel's will require a quite extensive modification (to open the hood/bonnet), but-as usually- I'll choose to do it "...not because it is easy, but because it is hard..."

As they say Bogi, "the best laid plans of Mice and Men often go awry", Still looking great though.

Sounds like you too are being Blitzed by Blitzs.

I have the Dragon Opel Maultier and the Tamiya Blitz. Maybe for a future campaign...
