Not sure I'm gonna make it in time, what with detail painting, weathering, and final assembly - who'd have thought a simple jeep was so much work?

err I would

Wow Pete, that's a whole lotta love for Tamiya's little gem! My hat's off to you...

Well I had what I thought was a good day today, adding Tamiya Clear Flat to kill the shine, and then layers of very, very thinned Earth to get that "nearly new but covered in road dust" look that I thought was ideal for a Jeep that probably arrived new in a crate in July '44 at a beach-head depot in Normandy before getting assigned to the Red Ball folk. Then, disaster struck! A moment of carelessness and over-tacky masking tape coming in contact with the hood resulted in the big star getting ripped, with part of it stuck to the tape - arrrggghhh. There's no time to strip and start again, so it looks like a judicious splat of mud is in order! Pity, as the rest of the Jeep is generally splat-free, but that looks set to change...

(The two figs in the foreground are for a Sherman, but as I was in a spraying mood they got flat-coated too...)

Ouch Tom. Maybe time for a Tarp, Map, Camo net or just a box placed on the hood...

As to the GPA, thanks for the comments guys... but that was more in jest to a response to Tom's comment. That was actually my build for the Jeep thread a couple of years back...

Still not quite finished. I need the early blue registration numbers to add before I weather it..

...or in my case 2 months

I've enjoyed watching the builds here, just time was not on my side to join up. Maybe next time...

Well, inspiration struck and I managed to finish! (Almost - it wants a base but I'm not sure whether to go with the small one in the pics, or add it to a large base and build a Red Ball CCKW to go with it...) Apologies for the iffy photos - my usual studio space is filled with spray booth at the moment!

Great campaign, with seriously interesting builds!

Ok, I'm calling this done.

I kind of like the chocolate chip camouflage uniform they used in the gulf war. it makes me kind of hungry.

Tom, I second Bogi - great save on the decal. You would never know. Personally I think this one needs to be a centre of focus on its own base....

Hyder. Nice Hummer too.

Mr K looking great, as usual. Very different camo scheme. Nice.

Thanks guys, the mud worked better than I hoped! Gonna give the base some thought.

Hyder, that camo painting is insane! Great work there.

Good morning
because few people asked for extension of the finish date - how about 1 month? is it enough?

Some progress on the reefer:

Assembled most all the sub-assemblies and scratched the access ladder.

Martin,

Thanks for the ribbon and thanks for leading this interesting Campaign!
Thanks also to all who joined and showed their builds-there were true gems among them!

I build a lot of trucks & trailers, so I'm always up for a sequel,
