Angel, I will go with Dragon kit and Plus Model 4x4 set plus Plus Model engine compartment set since I am making vehicle without hood. But, I probably will not use bumper and fenders from 4x4 set, I will try to do that part of the truck from Dragon parts in plastic. At least that is my plan, we will see...

FYI - in my day when building my Blitz 4x4's the only way to get the PM 4x4 parts was to buy the entire resin ambulance kit. The all wheel drive parts have only recently become available as a separate kit.

I also lined the A type and a S type I built some years ago, to ilustrate the differencies between both types Mike described earlier:

A type is taller and has straight bottom edge of bonnet wall, while S type bonnet wall edge is curbed.

When I see the results so far, the conversion to 4x4 is recommended? I have some very positive experience with Plus Model, good quality resin. Recently I bought the conversion version set for a MB L4500A to build a Rail Truck again. I did the conversion already in 2013, also on Armorama. Now I bought 2 of them to convert 2 Büssing L4500A to Rail Trucks. Will be searching for this set for the Blitz, I like the looks of this 4x4 truck.

I can highly recommend the 4x4 Blitz Conversion set by PlastModel!

The only shortcomings I found were:
-instruction being too small(cigarette box size),
-casting of front wheels-especialy the inner part of the rims, including the rim holes- left some to be desired.I think this was due to the particular master nearing end of life.

Otherwise- nice resin and quality casting as it is typical for PlusModel.

Thats whas bothering me all time. Seen the conversion for a long time already, but which batch do you get in the end. Again, with the Rail Truck conversions I was lucky, first class moldings.
Their instructions are beyond simplistic, its a drama IMHO.

Progress on the Bergepanzer IV. Primary construction is done. A couple details to add and painting will begin. Enjoying seeing all your builds. Really nice trucks being built.

Coming along nicely Bryan. I did not realise that two of the support legs are fitted to the wooden Turret opening. I imagined there would be sockets net to that. You learn something new every day.

That looks great, Richard! I also like how the chipping came out. White is/was only a temporary paint on the trucks for the UN Mission. So it's okay. Congrats for finishing your build!

I have found another MAN 5 to gl kit in my stash some weeks ago and will paint it in ISAF colours - one day .... ;-)

I don't understand why the chipping didn't come out as well on the top of the cargo area. I scrubbed on it with a toothbrush like crazy; but as you can see, I barely made a dent in it.

All things considered, I'm satisfied with it. I'm thinking I might propose a new campaign later this year. The theme will be anything in white. It can be either winter camo or UN white.

I had quite a stressful weekend, my Yorkie had a fight with a dog twice as big and, on my eyes, lost three of his fangs. He is better now, so I managed to spend some time on workbench in last few days.
So... I started by cutting little triangular part from the doors and following ark path by cutting part of panel in front of them (later proved unnecessary.)
Then I cut fenders off, modified them and glued in the place.


Next, I mixed Dragon plastic with thinner and started filling the gaps.


Later, I cut off excess plastic

Then, I bent front fender and glued it on two points with super glue.

Added steps under the cabin and inserted part of plastic to connect bumper and fenders.


Made side covers under the bonnet.


Best part, it's all separated from frame so I can install engine without problems.


Now, I am waiting for conversion sets to arrive.

Richard, I love the way this turned out. White is so hard to do convincing, but you pulled it off nicely. Well done.

Bogi, shaping up very nicely indeed. A very noticeable difference to the usual 'straight' bumper. Very noticeable and looks fantastic.

I'm back to my Blitz Type A again(spent some time building a StuG III Ausf.G for the Eastern Front Campaign on Aeroscale).

Frame, engine and radiator were primed and painted, cab interior too.
I've decided to use Elf's headlights-Italeri's organic headlights went to the trash bin.
There was also some hassle with PE.

Looking good Angel. Those Headlights are very nice.

Elf's headlights are the best I've seen sofar.
I order them from Russia(the guy who makes them is Belorussian) and although my last purchase costed me-because of custom duties and VAT- close to what a regular kit costs , I still find they are worth every penny.

The cab is painted and right now I am in the process of making the wooden load bed looking (a bit) worn out.
