Last fictitious ruin module , I think , not too happy with the water fx , used a Future floor wax type product . It is what it is though , not going to be in a show or anything so I can live it .

Oh yeah Tim , I'm up at 4am every day . Technically I didn't fall off a ladder , I fell off the roof . I was yanking on a sizable tree branch that came down after a mini NorEaster . Branch was wrapped around the chimney , I yanked on it , it broke and backwards I went . House is a ranch and like I said there was a six foot or so stack of fire wood I landed on so the fall was only six or seven feet . Could have been worse if the wood wasn't there . I'm not afraid of heights , started a landscaping , tree service when I was about twelve . Aerial construction , lineman , phone company thirty one years , built cable tv systems off hooks for around seven , eight years . I've been on hooks or in buckets forever , might say I've been high most of my life .

Fair enough Glenn, it’s just I worked for 20+ years in the seniors/aged care sector & I lost count of the number of recently retired guys like us keen to save money/keep active/be useful round the house who ended up in the ER after dusting off their ladders & cleaning out their gutters or fixing roof leaks. And for some, alas, it really was an instant stairway to heaven…this forum can’t afford to lose a brilliant diorama-ist like you, awesome work right here.

The other week, my neighbor (some 60+years-old) was breakin' in a bronc, but the only thing that got broke was two of his ribs!🐎 The revised story go's: He got liquored-up and fell off a little pony while trying to impress his grandkids!🤣

Sweet work Cheyenne, sweet!
Are you going to moss up the brick work a bit? Excellent masonry, btw!
Cheers, Ski.

Thanks Jerry , yeah maybe I'll try some Floquil flat finish I have laying around here some place . The clear , see the items on the bottom doesn't bother me as much as the nova burst shine reflection , must be good floor wax .
Ski , thanks man , already on my list for today , mold session !!

Did a lot more jungle work and now I'm on Tamiya's type 97 , to be a shot up addition . Just wanna say , researching Japanese details on armor and camo is like trying to find a needle in a pile of needles . Base and camo colors are vastly contradictory . I used a base color [ later type 97 version ] of drab khaki and will have a light brown and oliveish green camo areas . I found the Tamiya kit to be ok , some thickness in the fenders , exhausts are horrible which I reworked but overall good enough to build a wreck . I must say though the type 97 aa defence mg is superior , very detailed !!

Lots of nice new layers to the foliage there. Really sets off the stonework I think. Love the tank as well. I used to have a set of binos and case like that one my Dad brought back from Japan. He went ashore in Tokyo after the signing on the Missouri and got some stuff from the Marines. They had a huge pile of surrendered gear they were ah....dealing with. He had a sword, belt, binos, pistol with case and a rifle with bayonet.
If you think researching Japanese stuff is confusing, just try Polish stuff!

In a word: WOW...
I'm in awe Cheyenne as I've never attempted a jungle dio me-self, (but it's on the bucket list) and you've got the look down perfect.
Some real ancient ruins here.
I'm enjoying all the varying plantlife crowding for the same space. All the flora and fauna are native too I'm sure, nothing invasive in your scene.
Depending on what your figgies are doin', there will be some animal life right...?
Cheers
Dave

Thanks Dave , yep , I've got something planned in the fauna dept . I've got to come up with some carrion birds . I'm gonna try and pull off a scratch built clothed skeleton to go with the skull and helmet .
Shapeways has some remarkable birds but expensive and MAIM has some full skeletons .
All the greenery is back yard , some paper lazer cut and some paper punch leaves . The one bush/ ferny thing is actually paper punch white oak leaves in two different sizes . May not be real plant life but neither are the ruins real existing stuff . I'm just happy it looks jungley enough . I'd make myself crazy trying to make exact replicas of some things . Horseshoes and hand grenades man .

And it all works my friend, excellent.
Maybe a large snake or small mammal...? (naturally nothing too obvious).
Regards
Dave

Thanks again Dave , like I said I'm checking out Shapeways critters to see what's what .
Hiya Maarten long time no see , how's it going ? Thanks man appreciate it !!
HOWEVER , this build will be put on hold for awhile , the wife kinda threw me outta the house .
A few days ago was her birthday so I asked her what she wanted . She told me she would give me a few hints . She said she wanted something that went from zero to two hundred in seconds flat , beautifully gift wrapped in the driveway .
Boy oh boy was she mad on her birthday morning when she came in the house holding the new bathroom scale I bought her .........

Hmm that skull looks a bit Klingon?! Anyhow what’s this about making yourself crazy replicating things…in a future tense? Progress on the dio looks great, so much so you’ll have to start putting some weed-killer down. Nice gag too

Thanks Tim , lol , that skull started out as a resin Warriors [ I believe ] skull with U.S. GI helmet . Still needs sanding to get rid of that " head binding " look .

Lots accomplished and still lots to do . Sorry for the way too many pics , the camera catches and tells all . I noticed I made the engine hatch shell hole way to big . I have two other holes in the lower body and somehow I used a larger bit for the hatch hole , oh well .

Wow!!! Very very nice! This brings a whole different twist to the description"well done" tank. Suitably barbecued!
I love the thought process here with the burnt pioneer tool handles and the scorched tree above the burned area of the vehicle.
Nicely done as usual man!

Thanks Jerry and thanks for reminding me , I added another nekked tree branch above the engine deck and powdered the branches with off white pastel chalk .

Zzzz nice nap waiting for your pics to load up (OK my tenuous net link’s probably the reason) but Holy Vegetation worth waiting for & shazzam you pull a superb distressed tank out of a hat too?? Fantastic & yay for the pastel dust, a perfect example of how nothing else can replicate the effect better. You’ve admirably restrained its use although maybe I’d have made the fire more widespread but it’s your call…even so it would have still toasted the branches above if that’s it’s final position. Lush & brilliant work
