Heya, Folks!

Looks like we are back into a real groove for Vietnam War-related kits... We've got imminent release of multiple Sheridan kits from Tamiya and RFM as well as an LVTE-1 (YESSSSS!) and LVTH-6 from Amusing Hobby and AFV Club, as well as an M132 Zippo track due from Dragon...

We've also seen the release of the AFV Club M113 and M54 (hang in there, Jim!), the Roden M37 light truck, Dragon M67A2 flame tank and M48 AVLB, and I think, a Dragon M728 (is that out yet?), and probably others I am forgetting.

Great times for the Vietnam War Modeler!!

So what new AFVs or soft skins would you like to see next in 1/35th scale?

There are still lots of subjects to cover in plastic, some realistic, others more wishful thinking (PACV/ACV, Riverine craft), but for the moment, I am sticking to more "realistic" i.e. more likely to be kitted subjects.

Here is my 1/35 scaled short list.

1. Rome Plow
2. Centurion RAAC tank retriever/ARV
3. USMC M51 tank retriever
4. M53 / M55 SPGs
5. USMC grunt figures!!!!
6. M578 Recovery tank
7. NVA Type 63 amphibious tank
8. AH-1G Cobra attack help

Almost forgot:
9. Brown Water Navy crew (no web gear).
10. Army and USMC Artillery crew.
11. M548 Flamethrower Fuel/service vehicle.

Okay, maybe that list wasn't so short...

Of course, there are other kits I'd like to see reissued or new tooling (M109, M110 SPGs, M88 (with interior), LVTP5 (with interior), Aussie M113.

What are yuse guys looking for in this realm?

Looking forward to the new year, getting some kits built, and seeing what new subjects are going ta be released.

The kits I would like to see are mostly military in nature, but there are a few civilian items as well. All would be in 1/35th scale.

Military items:
Rhome Plow
M577 with interior
New tool M109 (interior would be nice)
M578 Recovery Vehicle
Figures of US Mechanized Infantrymen riding on the top of M113s (similar to the set by AC Miniatures of Australian troops riding on the top of a M113), Artillery crewmen, Tankers or Maintenance personnel changing road wheels or track.
Figures of Engineers, Medics, Signal Corps, Admin, and some in Starched uniforms for rear area basecamp scenes.
Australian, ARVN, and ROK figures.

Civilian items:
Lambretta Lambro 500 in plastic
The cycle thing with the passenger seats in front
Various civilian cars used by US AID, etc.
Vietnamese civilian figures (peasants, city folks, children - there were a lot of those around US Troops, and some being treated by medics during a MEDCAP)

That's what I'd like to see.

Tamiya and RFM are doing the Sheridan again. The Tamiya looks to be RVN issue, there maybe one issue. Won't comment till I have the kit in my hands. The RFM kit is really ODS, but looks like everything is in the box to build an earlier version. I'll get both kits.

I never saw the trailer used with the M110 / M107. I have seen one or two very large open trailers used by 155 outfits. Most gasoline I saw moved was via blivit, but have seen three or four eighteen wheelers in convoys. We need the rubber blivits in all sizes!!

It's been a few years, but one of AFV CLubs' first kits was of the 2 1/2 ton M49A2C fuel truck.

A total long shot, but I would love to see the late 60's Jeep M715 5/4ton cargo truck and the M725 Ambulance version. Mainly because I own and have restored both in my collection.
