@Cheyenne, good to read your words. I'm glad you like it.

I've been working on the targets, and this is what I got

8" steels. Made with brass sheet

The type E targets as @18Bravo told me, with a OD cardboard

And an overlook of the targets.

Now, I'll paint the steel targets. BTW, I' ve also made a small berm behind the targets as you can see in the last two pics. Not painted yet, neither weathered.

Cheers!

Looking good, but I'd be interested to know what your steels mic out to - they look a tad thin. And if they are a scale 8 inches then your type E's need to be larger. I wish I could give you dimensions of the actual target image (distance across the 5 point ring for example) but I am not at home for a few more weeks. The measurement of the entire paper however, is 23. 5" x 39. 25", so the width of your paper should be roughly three times the diameter of your steel.

Rob, you are right. I made a wrong size conversion for the steels. The right measures for an 8" is 0.5cm, and I made them for 0,5cm of radius instead of diameter. So I have made the right ones, using a plasticard sheet, because as you said, the brass sheet is too thin.

Some picture of the result, painted, glued and fixed.

Thats's all for now. Have a good night!

Cool. Those proportions look much better. Wife came through for me (targets are in my garage so bad people think twice about entering the house that way) and measured. Distance across the five ring is 6.25 inches.

Rob, say thanks to your wife for going to measure the targets. You two are very kind!!

I post some pics of the shooting area almost finished. Shooter is fixed but not finished. He has no head yet. Maybe I could add some small bushes over the terrain. I would shoot better pics ASAP, it was raining yesterday so these pics are shooted with artificial light.

The fence has been weathered with some oils to get a rusty effect. Now, Iīm already working on the shooterīs head and will start with Robīs figurine soon.

Have a great week!

Hi, friends!

I have left the dio apart for a few days but I have retaken it on Easter holidays.

Ron, thanks for posting and for your words.

The main work has been on the trailer and finishing the shooterīs head. Iīve started with the beautiful gal also. There are some new signs over the range also.

Some pictures of the process:

See you soon again!

Hi gents!!

After almost a month stopped, Iīve been working on the dio the previous weekend and yesterday (day off for me). I have added some 'last minute' ideas I have and finishing the mechanic girl (not seen on pics, but I added some grease on girlīs suit)

The 'last minute' ideas are a table with some guns and 3 ammo cans. Not sure if itīs very realistic, but I thouhgt itīd be a cool addition (for me at least). Iīve added also some vegetation.

Some pictures of the process.

Thatīs all for now. Now Iīm working on the last figure, the 18Bravo figure (Legend Productions)

Hope you like it!! Cheers!

Hi friends!

Finally I have finished the dio. The last figure remaining was the Sgt.Rob from Legend. I have painted it with a mix of Multicam and DCU.

Iīd like to shoot some more pics with my previous diorama (called Somewhere in Afghanistan) but I have to get it from my storage room.

Iīd also like to thank to the fellows that commented the post and gave unvaluable help. Hereīs the pictures.

Thatīs all. Itīs not my best work, I know. But Iīm quite satisfied with the work. I have to share with you one last pic, but I have to shoot it yet.

Cheers!!

I like a lot of what you have done here. I understand it may mess up the layout and feel free to leave it but I would move the female behind the firing line or at least near the gate. To me that would not be a good place of someone to stand on a active shooting range, not only for the spectator but also the shooter but that's just me.

Interesting dio as usual. Understanding the need to compress the dio for space reasons, (Like the proximity of the fence to the targets) there are still a few minor things I'd change.
I'd move the female closer to the male bystander. Where she is currently standing she'll get peppered from the jackets on the pistols rounds. Plus she's not wearing any eye pro.
Turn the weapon on the table around on the table so it's pointed downrange. (I'd say remove the mags from the other two but in what appears to be a semi permissive environment, I'd probably leave one fully loaded myself)
And finally, I'd have a purpose for that trailer, other than just being there as a filler. Like several ammo cans of differing calibers. Thinking back on Afghanistan, I'd even replace it with a UAZ.
Now for my favorite part:
That "fishnet" cammo on the helmet is not only realistic - it's very well done.

Ryan, thanks for your words and your advice. As you can read, itīs not just you, Rob thinks the same about the girl. I will take the advice.

Thanks again, mate!

ROb, thanks for your help when I was makin the dio. As you said, itīs not easy to compress the whole scene in a limited area. Not just the fence close to the targets, the targets are closer to the shooter as Iīd like. But it was intended to be a vignette.

As I said before to Ryan, Iīd move the girl to a further position from the targets. I didnīt realize about the eye protection, very good appoinment, friend! About the trailer it was supossed to be on maintenance. Thatīs why is empty and filling the space. But I like the UAZ idea

Iīm glad you like the fishnet, I tried to make it in your figure also, but I tried another colors and is not very visible, damn it!

Again thanks for your help and your knowledge. BTW, Iīll point the 249 to the range.

Regards!!

J, thanks for posting, my friend. And thanks for your words!!

Following your advices, I have moved the gal back on the scene, far from ricochets. I have also moved the 249 as 18Bravo pointed. The new display is this.

And now, the pics I wanted to show you before. These pictures are from my 4yo son's diorama version. He painted the figure, applied the base and fixed the targets. I made a basic door and the hose for him. The water is also made by him.

Now, he wants me to make a bigger one

Cheers!!!
