I'm building the AFV Club 1/35 scale Churchill MkIII and I am trying to find a set of crew figures for it.

Can anyone point me in the right direction, please? I have no clue about figures, at all!

Thanks in advance

Hi Mal,

Here is one selection:

https://www.amazon.co.uk/Miniart-British-Uniform-Building-Multi-Colour/dp/B007CUHJN2

If you do a Google search for British Tank crew 1:35, many
more examples from various manufacturers will come up.

Cheers,

Thanks Joe,

I did a search and found those figures and others. But in photos of them in use, they are pretty much always on Shermans? I know that the uniforms would be similar but the opening on the various tanks are different. So I was hoping to get a set specifically for the Churchill. It might not be necessary so any links that point to stuff that I have already seen are as good as any other, as they prove that I don't have to be too pedantic!

There are some dedicated Churchill crews in resin from AFV Clubs resin company whose name is Hobby Fan. I will also add that as resin offerings go they are very competitively priced. I will keep an eye open at Telford and feed the info to you.

At the risk of being ridiculed, Tamiya did their Churchill MkVII tank crew seperately, complete with the Frenchman with cart and wine bottle. Don't laugh, they are not that bad and if you want them to go in hatches a lot cheaper to chop up than resin figures. As a dedicated Churchill crew they should also fit.

I for one, will not disparage you because I think the newer Tamiya figs have really stepped up! The ones for the new British TD are very nice.

The figures in Miniart armoured car crew 35069 are very versatile for British tank cupolas other than Shermans. The seated driver works because a Churchill driver looked through the glacis port, not sit up in the hatch.

The shirt sleeve and shorts figures from the same set would work for Tunisia and Italy.

For my Churchill I converted an old Esci British rest group with new heads. The leather jerkins over battledress was an often seen alternative uniform.

Thanks Darren, I'll check out the figures

Good news, thanks Joe. I didn't know that Tamiya produced their crew figures seperately

Thanks Stephen
