Most of the work now will be sanding & priming, so that’ll be fun.
In the meantime, the base for the remote weapon station - known as the Protected Weapon Station (PWS) or the EOS R-400 - was CAD’d up. More work to come on this one: it replaces the normally-fitted gun ring.

Using this mishap as a reference (everybody unhurt, thankfully)...
I detailed the underside of the stowage bins:
Some cleanup to go, but progress nonetheless.

Some pretty significant progress over the last fortnight.
Was put onto a new glue that welds PLA together.
Started on the fuel cell & battery box:
Finished up gluing the major components of the lower hull:
Lastly, some consumables for the incoming newer & larger printer arrived. Check out the size difference between the current print area (small black mat) & the new print area (enormous black mat). Will definitely speed things up!

There’s been a bit of progress thanks to the new & significantly larger printer. Fewer pieces reduces the chance of inducing tolerance errors, but makes print times a lot longer.
The first print was 182 hours - over a week! That meant that the upper hull could be printed in a single piece. Fresh off the printer, complete with some print defects.
Still, starting to look good with some clean up.
Version 2 is also a lot better than version 1.
With more interior detail & better overall shape & look.
And the error that made me restart the entire design.
An error of 4.5mm. Ouch.

Cleaned up the upper hull print & added anti-slip with Tamiya light sand textured paint.

very interesting work!
Not.Jealous.at.all.b.t.w!
What are you using to smooth out the ridges?
I did some wings in PLA, Used Holts Knifing Putty (3M/Bondo) and Halfords (UK) primer, smoothed well, but after a week, it looked like crazy paving!
