Even though there's a lot of activities going on right now - I think the M113 is a great "group build" subject! I couldn't resist popping one out either!

We are proposing running this as a campaign and not just a group build, right?

Either way, I'm in.

The definition(s) and parameters of "Campaign" is likely to change in the very near future, so I wouldn't label it at this time other than a slammin' Group Build. This is not a big deal though - model on!

As long as there's a good long time to build, I'm in...gotta fit it in with the other 1001 things I have going...this would be a good excuse to build a mortar carrier...

I am new here and I have never participated in a campaign but I also would be very interested in joining in. I have always wanted to do a Vietnam M113.

it was a rhetorical question right ? like I can ever run out of IDF M113's to do. and end of summer sounds just right with all my T55s going on. :-)

Count me in as well......and as usual, all I have to do is pick a subject.

M106
M577
M901
M163

Maybe, if Fredenburg has the Canadian TUA conversion kit out by then, I would consider that....how about it Paul????

Otherwise I would probably lean towards a a Canadian 577

Actually this is a modern campaign I would be very interested in doing. I have the IDF fitter version at home and would love an excuse to start it. The M113 is one the modern kits I think look really cool and the fitter version, I couldnt resist picking up. Whole interior as well!!! Count me in. A late summer start date would suit me perfectly also, as i have incoming and softskins underway at the moment, although the softskin should be finished within a week or so.
Looking forward to this one!

Count me in. I've been researching a variety of M113s and stockpiling kits for a good build - prefer an ending time in the autumn.

As it stands, I will revive this thread in September and we'll get things rolling for a September 1 start date. Looks like a good batch of participants.

What is the difference in a group and a campaign build?

Yeah Manchu, I had my hands on the first TOW series M113s in the mid-70s at Ft Hood-- the pedestal mount that had to be dragged up from the interior, then locked in place. Both the gunner and loader hanging out, not much better than a TOW jeep. Never could get those damn batteries to discharge/charge properly, either!

What softskin build? Is this a new campaign? First I've heard of this one...must have been asleep at the laterals......

...and while I'm on the subject, is Italeri's 1/35 Opel Blitz any good? If so, any PE sets out there for it? Any obvious corrections to the kit that need to be made?, Etc. Etc......thanks!

I think there were several follow up threads as well but this was the first.

The next step in this process is for a Campaign Leader to step up to the plate. The Campaign Leader then needs to go over to the Campaign Section (Main Menu over on the left side of the screen). Inside the Campaign Section, you will see two hyperlinks. One lists the guidelines (Campaign Guidelines) for setting up and managing these activities, and the other is a form for submitting this idea. Click on Campaign Application, fill out the required information - and this activity is on its way!
