Did you try the password you set when you created the account?

I don't have access to the passwords so I can't change/reset it for you.

I could change the username to something else so that you could create new account and keep track of the password so that you can login when I have activated the "new" hj1985

For those of us with longer threads here and concerned with "losing" the content -

Quoted Text

Linking works now but I don't know how it will behave when Jim archives the old forums. Not sure how the "html-mummy" works together with linking to specific topics/threads

I was wondering this as well, so I just gave it a test run. I have copied my "Gearing Class Odyssey" thread across from MSW to the new site and dropped a link to the old archived thread into the first post on the new site. It appears as boxed title in the new thread (circled in YELLOW in the image below) and when clicked opens in a new window on my browser.

I will be restarting some of my longer threads this way on the new forums, not copying the whole thread across.

Hope this helps.

Cheers, D

I'm sorry, but I don't think I noticed something. Where is the link to the new forum? Maybe a funny question, but ... I don't know

At the top of this page under 'NEW', there's a 'forums' button to click on. Hope to see you there!

Piotr, you have to register on the new forums, the old username/password will not work.

I activated your account, it looked as if it was hanging due to the activation email gone missing,
it happens for 5 to 10% of the new accounts.

Robin, Why do we have two separate but duplicate threads going here?

Is there any point in being a subscriber anymore? Will the new forum eventually get flooded with advertisements? Will being a subscriber protect me from the flood of advertisements?

Want to catch posters in more than one subforum.
I may eventually post the same exhortation in all forums.
"Move along folks, nothing more to see here"

Some visit many forums every day, some only visit one forum, some visit sporadically.

While assisting with the activation (caused by some mail providers disliking other mail providers) of accounts I have come across long time members of the old forums whose names I have never seen before.
Armorama is one little universe but it isn't the whole multiverse of Kitmaker.

WTH are trusts levels? Is this site now a effing game? Where we have to post often to be able to post in other forums? Do we get to unlock secret levels? Do I have to be audited with an e-meter too?The only reason that even exists is to make sure you see all the ad content by making you have to post or hit other forums. Everyone on this site should be able to post where they damn well want to because they have been members for years! Even new members should be able post where they want and as many times as they want. I might go a couple weeks or so without coming here or logging in but now I have to be an 'active' participant to be able to reply or post or 'advance' to some bulls..t higher trust level. Spend time reading posts? Have a set number posts to read to advance? So some days I might only be here long enough to read new posts or the news because I have a life that doesn't revolve around the internet.

And what about new modelers? Looking at what "level 0" can do they won't come here. They are limited on how many topics they can start so how can they ask questions? How do we share our experience or learn new things?

How do they ask for help?

This isn't a forum anymore but a damn social networking site forcing interaction, advancement, ridiculous rules and social hierarchy. This used to be a site where everyone was equal, everyone was welcome.

If this is what this place is coming to, I'm out.

Didn't anyone consider Invision? Everything from the "old" Kitmaker site could have been transferred without all of the happy horsecrap.

Robin,I just signed up for the new site using Google to log in. I think I completed it fairly easily for an old fart with minimal tech skills. Time will tell if I will enjoy it as much as this site. I am very saddened to hear that you cant carry forward the campaigns and archived builds,as it what I enjoy the most about this site, as well as the awesome members on it. I sincerely hope all the great guys on here make it over to the new site and we can all pick up where we are parting here. To all the members here, a sincere thank you for making this site what it is, and thank you for the many hours of enjoyment and wisdom, and advice. Best regards.......Dale Hines

Invision isn't a free software. Could that be a reason?

I believe it is an anti-spamming technique to prevent bots from joining up and immediately sending out 50 posts to every forum. I don't recall seeing anyone having issues with posting or using the site once they have transitioned.

It was always a sort of social networking site. And looking at the "Founding 500" badges, rank symbols, post counters, and campaign emblems, anyone saying there wasn't interaction, advancement, and hierarchy on Armorama has their head up their ass.

Robin, I think you are being too much of a typically polite Scandinavian. This thread needs to be re-titled "Hey meatheads! Use the new site - This one is closing down!"

In the new forum I would have given your post a 'like'

Many have gotten the message so I don't need to be confrontational, yet ....
