G'day everyone
well alot of people have been complaning about all he changes being made to the layout of this site and the way it works, until now i didnt really give a fuss (except when my "cheers" guys got taken away!)
but now i am thinking, it just keeps changing, how many more changes are going to be made, will this site become totally 100% different to what is was like?
now with the changes to the way it shows who has made a post, as in where it says Lestweforget on the left of my comment.
When is it going to die down for a while, let us all get used to the new way of things?
cheers

A lot of people have been complaining?

Not to me.

This site will always be modified and is a "work-in-progress". As are most. But I appriciate your input.

Thanks,
Jim

I think that the chages made to the site this far just have been for the better. So I'm not complaining.

Hey Dragon, just think of when you paint your livingroom or get a new couch after sitting on the old one for years. Get comfy, crack a beer.

Evolution is GGOOOODD!

Jim,

I like the new layout - it looks fine, although the Author colums is a bit too wide now to my liking. Particularly that there is really few members with callsigns long enough to require such a long box. I prefered slightly wider message area.

And one more thing: I trully hope you will NOT have too much time available for improving Armorama now! Hope you know what I mean.

It's like the highways here in the Netherlands, they keep changing every year, first you're thinking 'what are they DOING?!" and when the new highway is finished, you think "nice, I like driving here" and after a year they will have to make it even bigger and change it again....
Like Jimbrae said; it's not changing it's evolution...

Progress, not profection.
Besides, it's the members, and their participation, in promoting, and enhancing, and encouraging, helping each other, that really makes this site so great.
Sharing our time and talents to improve not only our models, hobby, and site.

New look is like a new suit, as long as it's mantained it looks great, but eventually it will start to wear out, and needs a good cleaning and pressing.

Got my long week end off coming up, broke up with girl friend, last weekend, worked the day shift, so never really get to much modelling done on the day shift, so now maybe I'll finish either my "Incoming", or "Move It" campaign item. At least my plan for the week end is to finish up at least one.

Also hope to get the package out to Dave Cox Saturday.

Pawel,
That was bothering me a bit too so I made it as small as possible. I also think I fixed the width change issue when it was loading.

Thanks!

Imagine all the changes that us December 2001 members have experienced. This site only vaguely resembles what the site started as. Perhaps Jim has a snap shot of one of the first webpages he did and can post it to show you how much the site has evolved in the past 2+ years.

Coming from a software world - change is inevitable. I can also appreciate the alternate viewpoint. If you don't say anything Jim can't adjust.

I love the changes that are made.

I would like applause Jim for the method in which the changes are being made - In Small Pieces
This makes it easier to adjust to each change. Yea, there have been a few bigger ones, but for the most part they are small.

Keep up the good work!

Question: why do you see only one ribbon in the profile bar, even though I have 3 (I'm sure there are more of you with a huge load of them). And why this particular one?

It was likely your first. Or more acurately is the lowest award ID that your user ID matches to. And yes putting all the awards would be an additional load on the server and (to be very honest) we are loading way too many images on these pages as it is.

Cheers,
Jim

I don't know about others but if I can't get all the awards and ribbons in the thread I prefer they stay in the profile.
