Tamiya, but it must be the "new" one. The "old" Tamiya one is just that with poor detail etc, likewise the Italaeri.

I have Tamiyas dak kubelwagen i think its much better than Iteleris,mainly in the way of instructions.Tamiyas schwimwagen i don't think its been retooled at least mine has'nt.I dont have Italeris so i can't offer an opinion on that one.Ithink Dragon do aschwimwagen it might be worth your while to check that out. Martin, when I say "old" for the Tamiya, I mean "ancient". Unless Italaeri have retooled their Kubelwagen & Schwimmwagen they date back to the 70's like the "old" Tam ones. The Italaeri ones are debatable both on shape and size, I haven't seen the Dragon offering, it WILL be better than those, but I like the recent Tamiya ones. I have examples of all the above, a quick once over would clarify what I'm saying, but I don't have photos I'm afraid.

Hi,
In my humble opinion(yeah, right), the best kit of the Kubelwagen is either one of the great Dragon kits or the fantastic new Bego/Tasca creation.

Dragon's comes a lot of times with different types of figures and extra little goodies(some great PE).
The Bego is just awesome(not a Tamiya copy).

I have 5 Dragon and 1 Bego.

For the schwimmwagen, Tamiya is by far superior, yes the new (1998) version is better than the old(1970) one but I think the old one is better than Italeri's attempt at this cool vehicle. The newer tamiya version fits together splendidly and allows you to spend your time with detailing and painting. I haven't tried any other brands.
{I do have an old Tamiya version in my gallery ( it did needed alot of upgades)}
enjoy your schwimmwagen

the only advantage of Italeri Kubelwagen kit is you can do it closed top.

Don't forget the Hasegawa Kubelwagen. This is also boxed by DML. The box also says Bego Version so I assume it is the same kit as the Bego/Tasca Kubelwagen. Nice kit.

I also have the Heller Kubelwagen and it is the old Italeri kit inside.

The Tamiya Africa Corps Kubelwagen is another nice kit and the new Tamiya Schwimmwagen is nice too.

Avoid the old Tamiya 35006 Kubelwagen and 35003 Schwimmwagen.
