Hey Guys,
I know someone here will come to the rescue. While researching on the net it quickly becomes apparent there are too many books available to weed through without securing a second-mortgage. What I seek are excrutiatingly detailed close-up photographs of the Panzer III, specifically the 'L'. Which publications would you guys recommend?
Thanks in advance and Merry Christmas,
Cody

I sent ya an e-mail with some additional info for you let me know if you got it.
The only printed reference book I have of the Panzer III is Squadrons PzKpfw III in action and it has many pictures of the L version but no interier photos of the L..
It has a lot of photos of the pz III series and describes their differences and production times.
this is a good general overview but nothing that goes into compehinsive end all deph..

Thanks Delbert - responded to your email. What I am hoping to discover with this Armorama post is a single reference which will go into utterly ridiculous detail of the exterior of the vehicle.
Thanks guys,
Cody

I think the best bang for the buck would probably be the Achtung Panzer number II on the Panzer III ..The whole series is great ,and can be used to build many of the Panzer III kits out there.

Richard,
Does the volume contain close-ups of fiddly details?
Thanks,
Cody

If you want to buy only one book, and not spend much money, I recommend Osprey's Modelling Manual #15, Panzerkampfwagen III. For about $18, you get dozens of detailed photos of constructing a proper Panzer III. There is even a section specifically on building a Ausf L, fiddly bits and all. I got my copy at Powell's in Portland. The Achtung Panzer books are also very good, but a bit more expensive and a bit harder to find.

Paska,
I have the Osprey volume and did see the 'L' coverage - it is helpful but I seek photographs of the real deal. Perhaps the Achtung Panzer pub is the way to go. Armorama comes to the rescue.
Thanks much guys and Merry Christmas,
Cody

Cody, I agree with Rick, pick up the Achtung Panzer book. Lots of close up pics of the real deal, a great modeling reference.

Thanks guys. Based on your comments I have ordered the 'Achtung-Panzer No.2 - Panzer III' volume. While not an 'L' this walk-around offers some good general detail pics as well - http://www.ww2mmrefphotos.com/photos/walkPZIII.htm
Thanks again guys,
Cody

You will not be disappointed with the Achtung Panzer book. The detail drawings and photo's will absolutely amaze you. Although the books are an investment, they can be used for so many kits. I have purchased three of them myself and would never think twice about buying additional volumes. They are well worth it.
