Hi all, I'm new to the site.

Firstly what a great site! Unfortunately looking through some of the galleries puts my efforts to shame!

Anywho, I have recently restarted making models and have dug out some of my old Tamiya kits. Unfortunately, I put a lot of them in plastic containers and cannot find the instructions (Doh!!)

Does anybody know where I might get hold of copies or scans? They are all old out of production pieces (like the horse drawn field kitchen)

Many thanks in anticipation.

Hi All

The one I really need is:
1/35 GERMAN FIELD KITCHEN GULASCHKANONE
This was a kit from the 70's/80's drawn by two horses.

Although I have built the carriage, I need the plans for the horse limbers/straps etc.

Mind you, I cant find anything in my bits boxes so will prob have to scratch build them.

Any help much appreciated.

I've got the horse drawn kitchen. IIRC the straps were provided as a thin sheet of styrene that you had to cut the straps from.

I built that recently for one campaign or another, don't remember which. I will see if I can scrounge up the instructions. I was pretty good at filing them away at one time.
Rob is right. The straps need to be cut out of the thin sheet of styrene you should have. The instructions call out lengths and widths. The whole concept looked like a nightmare to me. The horses went in the spares box...
At any rate, if I find the instructions I will shoot you a PM.

Thanks Shaun I would appreciate it.

I have some old thin styrene remaining from some Airfix Waterloo models which may suffice.

If I dont cock it up too much, I may post pics when finished.

Cheers, Sid.

I bought the Academy version of this. No styrene straps here .... just ..... no expense spared, state of the art, pre-cut sticky paper!
Academy really shoot themselves in the foot sometimes.

Sid ... if all else fails I can scan the academy instructions, if needed.

Frank,
Sid is going to need those instructions. Just checked my filing system, and I use the term loosely, and I don't have my set.

Sorry everyone,

i'm looking at the Feldkuche German Field Kitchen scenery item 35247 (upper right) by Tamiya. This is the multinational version of the instructions and there isn't any instruction on the horse's harness. This is the one without the horses though -

Always remember google. It can come through in a pinch. When I needed harness strapping I 'googled' it and found enough information to piece together a scratch built solution.

Thanks Scott.

Had a good look through Google, Lycos, etc but couldn't find much of use in this subject though.

I will keep looking though.

I've got an inch thick. Some of them maybe pairs. I sometime buys 2 kits of the same kind.

You planning to include ships as well. The 1/350 scales are like books.
