Guys
I'm trying to get this Panther finished,
now i've found a side view of it on this site
Panther G
but what I can't find is any info on the unit or it's insignia as I'd like to add said insignia to the model. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
TIA
Pete

Please don't takr this as a criticism, rather as a question.
Are you sure the 4th company had black on white border numerals? In LAH the 2nd Panther co. had the same color combo. Possible different divisions assigned the combos differently. I only bring this up because I was discussing this point in another topic.

To be honest with you I used those decals from my collection that I've accumulated over the years. They're a fairly ancient set and on the sheet they look as though they are just plain black which according to the picture i have of the Panther is correct. I hadn't actually noticed the white border til you mentioned it. Thank s very much.

Thanks for the tip. This promises to be an excellent site when it's finished. Lots of interesting and fresh pics.

Actually Peter I wouldn't worry too much about unit markings. Contemporary photographs show that 6th Panzer Armee & SS units generally were fairly lax about marking their armour, especially Panthers. There is one notable exception, 3 SS Totenkopf did seem to mark theirs, otherwise it's quite hard to find a photo of one with SS unit markings.

Another thought, if this is in "Spring Awakening" all unit markings were deleted for security reasons - this extended to the mens cuff titles.
