Looks nice but diecast roadwheels just to give the model heft? I'd would rather see some PE with it instead.
My friend has one on preorder already for him and I
I'm sure Blast Models will have a lot of goodies for this
Does anyone know the meaning of Series 2? I thought they went by T numbers (by prodution batches) and where up to a T10 or T11

The original link would not work because it has http: in it twice.
Here is the link I used:

That looks like a great kit.
There sure isn't much on the outside of that thing is there? It is almost to "sleek". Reminds me of a Corvette. :-)
I too, don't like the diecast road wheels. If they want to give extra weight to the kit, they should provide a set Fruil tracks!

Heck, I don't mind the diecast roadwheels as long as they got 'em right.
Scott, I wondered about this too, my understanding (from the little I've heard) is that this designates this Leclerc as the latest version. Also did anyone else notice the non-skid surface on the turret? I for one am looking forward to this one!
Cheers,
Mike

Hi all,
just my two cents as I haven't the whole story about this.
The Leclerc production is divided in 3 series each being divided in batches named Tranche in French.
The Series 1 included the early production Leclerc which have been retrofitted to newer standard.
The Series 2 is the current one and ends with the T8 or T9.
The Series 3, sometimes seen as Series XXI, will be the last one, the last T should be 11.
This is applicable to the French MBT's. I'm not sure that the EAU MBT's follow this designation system.
Hope this helps,
olivier

Diecast roadwheels? Interesting concept. Going to push the price up considerably methinks....Jim

I don't know Jim, with them, they might find a way to explain the cost as being higher for die-cast, but all the other models claim they go with die-cast to bring cost down.
Look at the die-cast models completely put together and painted, way cheaper then plastic, that's not even put together in the same scale.

Well I would assume its cheaper then plastic since you can reuse the waste or mishot items to make more parts. I dont see it making a big difference in their 1/48 scale kits.
I think the retail price for the kit is 3600 or 3800 Yen
