I was just thinking about the site for whatever reason and I wondered who are youngest member is, or how young. I am 14, do we have anyone younger out there? There must be someone.

Cheers

I'm 47 and have been accused of acting like a child by my wife when she's mad about something! I try to go by the creado of "I may always grow older but I'll never grow up!" :-)

Ralph. you're only about 19 - 20, aren't you? I remember you making the dive bomber for AGE and you said you were 18 somewhere... I think... That doesn't seem too old to me to not be youthful.

I was 15 back in March.... now I am 16... modelling didn't really interest me before, as I sculpt model military vehicles from plasticine, and destroy them after.......... I am fascinated by armor penetration and crap..... might be a engineer in the future.... anyhow, after I found this Russian site with models, I was impressed of the "realistic" effects you can get by making model kits, so I picked one up... and still working on it.

Well I'm 25 but I feel young especially when step in to a hobby shop. Then I want to have all "toys" they have on stock, maybe almost all ... :-)
I can stay there for hours just watching those colorful boxes, taking a look inside and watching at shop window models and dios made by shop's owner. #:-)

Ciao everyone,
It's really good to see that young people are joining the hobby!! I agree with Augie.....I'm 41, but Mrs. Husky1943 would say I'm around 13 years old (but she loves me.) Ciao for now

Hey guys... I know this is kind of off topic from this subject, but do you guys think when we model miniature armor, aircrafts, figures and what not.... is kind of like playing with "adult toys"? I see it more as a art, than a toy... how about you guys? Toys or art?

I mean with toys you play with them, but with modelling, you are trying to replicate something from the past persay.... I am also a very big history buff, thats why modelling is a big plus for me... as I can visualize what types of vehicles people used in the old times, and stuff.

I think it is definetly art. You dont play with a painting and you dont play with a model(unless weathering or adding extras are considered playing :-)

I would never consider models as toys. You never play with them, do you? They are a display piece when finished.

Hi all!

Personaly, I don't think modelling is an art! When I build a kit, I don't see myself as an artist but more as a craftsman...
But the difference between Modelling and art is sometimes very small! Especially when I see the work of some of the guys here!
