Hi all,
Well...some of you already seen this tank when I first entered the forum here at Armorama.....but I hope you don't recognize that old tank anymore because I've completely repainted it, I added camouflage netting, I added stowage, and I added Modelkasten workable tracks!
Hope you all like it...
Oh and eh, I know about the not-drilled out MG's Maybe I'll drill them out later
Martin

I haven't seen yours "Hela" before repainting so I won't compare but this one is a piece of art.
I love netting, stowage and paintwork (did I omit something?)

Nice build of one of Tamiya's least-expected (and best) models.
One question - what happened to the wheels centres??
Not sure about the steel helmet, it might be better with the RAC rimless type (similar to the para one)

Very nice model you have there! I like the weathering and the camoflage netting. You got a nice variation to the OD as well. Drilling out the mg barrels would make it even better.

Hi Martin!
It looks very good and I can see you have gonne the "extra mile" on this one
Accept two suggestions of this Salty Dog:
1 - Include a photo of the Cromwel as when you joined the Big A (you don't have to be ashamed - we all had to start and no one starts a "MasterModeler");
2 - drill the Brens muzzles - it is a easy job and it will improve a lot your already excellent Cromwel
Keep up the good work
Skipper

Well it was not my intention but if the kit qualifies for it......why not lol. But did the Polish forces participate in the Walcheren campaign? I thought they only covered the British/Candian right flank...
Let me know!

Lol didn't even knew Academy has a Cromwell kit....it's the Tamiya kit, and I can really recommend it! The Modelkasten tracks too btw!

Oops, did I missed something on the wheel centres? I did!
Guess I forgotten that already when I build it about a year ago.....can't fix that anymore, don't have anything of that kit anymore....
The helmet is something from the old stowage, can't really change that anymore as I would have to break off the periscope guard where it lies on.

1 - Here ya go
Funny to see that difference (at least I see a difference, hopefully you too lol)
2 - Well I've heard people drill them out with sharp knifes but I'm very interested in other methodes as well. How to drill out barrels?

Hi Martin, about the Polish forces:
There were Polish divisions with Cromwell tanks and Cruiser_mkvi A30 Challengers that liberated the eastern part of Zeeuws Vlaanderen. Check this thread from Zeeuwtje (aka Ad Brons)
Barrels:
I make a start with a sharp knife and then drill it out further whit a very small drill ( 0,5 mm or less) sticked in a pinvise (translation pinvise = een soort aluminium boorhoudertje met een boorkopje. Proedge heeft ze bijvoorbeeld. Je kan het met je vingers ronddraaien en tussen je vingers en de handpalm klemmen. Zeer handig!).

Well my Cromwell is actually one near Breda but hell, if it's ok with you and Ad I can use it as entry
Sounds like I have to modernise my toolkit....still working with not much more than a knife, sanding paper and glue lol

Martin, your Cromwell looks really good and much better than first version One nitpick is that 'Hela' was a command tank so should have mock-up barrel. Anyway you did great job, especially with camo netting

Hi Martin- your cromwell is much improved. Well done, it looks so much nicer. It's such a fine looking tank that it needs to be well-dressed!
Here's a picture of a pin vise so you know what to look for...
Hope it helps
