Has anyone built the Emhar 1/35 Whippet Mk IA? Opinions on this kit? Is it worth the £17 Hannants want for it? Opinions on Emhar kits in general?

Furthermore, has anyone experience with the Airwaves Photo-etch set for the above? Opinions? Opinions on Airwaves? How do Airwaves compare to Aber and Eduard?

Do any other manufacturers produce the Whippet in 1/35? Preferably Plastic Injection Mould.

Thank you

~ Kitty

p.s. Does Emhar have a site; has anyone got an URL for Emhar?

Emhar's Whippet is not the greatest model ever by any means, but it's the only injection one there is likely to be (unless Tamiya remember where the first Japanese tanks came from). I think Accurate Armour are re-releasing their resin one, but that's a different price league.

Anyway, check this site for lots more on the Whippet and particularly the forum where one of the participants on the group build is tackling one.

Airwaves went out of production when ED Models closed down. How much of the Airwaves stuff Hannants have re-issued I don't know, but it does add to the model.

EDIT: never found an Emhar site, only Pocketbond who distribute Emhar

PS on Airwaves, Hannants website is advertising the Whippet set. Airwaves stuff is a lot more base than either Eduard or Aber, but it does add to the Emhar model in this case. Unlike Airwaves set for the Emhar Mark IV which is worthless (IMHO).

If you're feeling rich, you could try and find some new Hotchkiss MGs - I used Scale Link ones which aren't quite the same scale but are a lot better than the ones in the kit. Beware which Hotchkiss you get though, the British ones are LMGs not the heavy version used by the French in their tanks.
