I will be doing the Academy F-16 in 1/48, and I will be adding some of the munitions from Hasegawa's Weapons Set D once I run down to the LHS and pick it up.

Well I was able to get started this afternoon. I'm doing the ''Ace of Spades'', a Hasegawa 1/48th AV-8B Harrier II. I found some on-line reference photos of this jet. I was surprised to see the Harrier dirty, real dirty, my favorite look

Hi,
I'm finishing an old Monogram MiG-29 1/48, soon after I'll start the Italeri F-16C, 1/48, with one Two Bobs F-16C OIF VIPERS decals sheet.

Wow!
For the past week I have had trouble with this web site.
I guess someone out there may know what's been going on, because it seemed we lost parts of this thread at time and, as for me, I couldn't log into this site.

It looks as if things are taken care of now.

Hay OIF/OEF members, any kind of activity to make note of?

On my build, the F-15E, I've seen a GBU_31 from Shull24 that was profiled on Aircraft Resourse Center the other day, it looks perfect for my build, I've sent an email to a Shawn Hull, the owner of "www.shull24.com" to purchase a set of GBU's.

As for the kit itself, all the major assembly is done, I am working on the landing gear, exhaust cans and ordnance for it. Other then the GBU's, I am using a few Paveways, Sidewinder, AMRAAM's and external tanks to complete the under carriage. Sorry no pics yet.

Anyone care to sound off where they are in their build?

Right now, I am pretty much dead in the water waiting for time and inspiration to hit me. I may just do something quick and build the 1/144 scale RG AV-8B Harrier II Plus they just released (I figured it would fit in fine with all of the Harriers here already ).

Ok here's where I'm at, I just finished up painting and clear coating. Once the clear coat dries the oil wash will be applied. I found it disappointing that the kit lacked in the munitions department, so I raped another kit to dress up the bomb racks. I should be done this weekend.

Finally getting my act together for this campaign.

here is my F/A-18A for OEF.

Using the Hasegawa 1/48 scale kit, true details ejection seat, eduard placards, and two bobs decals for VFA-97 Warhawks (doing CDR C.A. Sternberg's 3 tone grey camo aircraft).

Well... Well... Well...

I finally got a chance to take a few pics...

This is a real pic of a GBU-12 on display,
Notice the seeker up front...

This is the process I used to modify the "ring" on the seeker... I used a soldering iron to mend the end once they were folder over the steel rod. A Dremel to grind off the sold looking ring. No CA glue was used to secure to brass band, It was a perfect snug fit.

This is my build so far, 90% assembly complete..

Gaucho,

Coming along well. What markings in particular do you plan to use from the Two Bob's sheet after you finish building and painting?

Sincerely,
Brian

Hi Brian,

Sorry for the delay. I choose these markings for my Falcon. But I don't know what is the AFB or squad they are from.

Hi Ramao,

Your decals are for the 77th Fighter Squadron "Gamblers" stationed at Shaw AFB, South Carolina. Their history goes back prior to WWII and they have used the F-16 for missions in Kosovo as well.
I can't wait to see the finished result.

Sincerely,
Brian

Thank you Brian.
Great info, I'll search more about them on the web.

Cheers

Hello everyone,

So it seems that i am going to have to pull out of this campaign (and all the other's i was in that end before june or so), as i managed to break a bone in my left hand yesterday and will be in a full forearm cast for the next 6 or 7 weeks!

I don't think i am going to have much luck with one handed modelling.

anyway, I'll be looking in on the campaigns with envy, so everyone keep up the good work!

Hi Vance,

Sorry about your hand. I'm going to ask Tobar if it is okay to have a "Grace period" for you to finish your
F-18 model since he will have the ability to give you an award even after the campaign is officially over.

Sincerely,
Brian

Hello All !

It's been quite here, How have you all been?

Drop a note, maybe a pic if you can, to update everyone on your campain progress..

I've been fighting with colors on my ordnance.
The OD on my Paveway (GBU's) look fake. and my
coloring of my Sidewinders look to dark.

Other then that my F-15E is ready for the paint shop.

How about yourself?

Here she is all finished up and painted. It's a Hasegawa's 1/48th AV8B Harrier done in the 'Ace of Spades' decals. Painted in Model Masters paints and was built out of the box. It had a few fit problems, especially around the in-takes. Other than that it’s a great kick to build.

Hi Joe!

Great model! I really like how you make those grey paint schemes. They should be dull and boring and you make them look alive and interesting! Hats up!

Joined the GB a bit late but luckily I was already working on a suitable subject. My contribution is a 1/48 F18D from Hasegawa's stable. I also used a decal set from CAM depicting an aiframe from VMFA(AW)225 'Vikings'

Hope you enjoy the poor photography!!!

All the best RAFAIR
