OMG.....I just had a terriable thought...What if there was no more Armorama as we know it????? What would we do???

Is there a 12 step program in place in case that day comes to past??

They would have to develope a "patch" for us to wear which by the way probably wouldn't work since we've all become serious Armorama "junkies". :-) :-) :-)

LOL me too. But I like the web address...'Modelgeek'. Must remember that...modelgeek I am a model geek, I am a model greek,....er no that's Costas I am a geek...

Here in the States we have a TV commerical running for an ISP company. Somebody in the commerical has the line, "Geeks get it done and Nerds don't." So we're model people who "get it done?" I wonder who the Model Nerds are then? Probably some of those sites who argue over every rivet in a model that hasn't even been released yet?

HI guys,
Forgive me if I'm posting this in the wrong place but I'm getting no where with emails to the webmaster or tech help.
I'm having to log in under my sons callsign and account because after the switch in servers my password was lost, and being an idiot I didn't have it written down anywhere. I've made SEVERAL attempts to obtain a new password without having to "reinlist" and start all over, but no one has mailed me a new password. I've been trying since last night and nothing......so, posting under my sons account was my last option.

Please help.

This server is better than old, because old was too slow.

Hi all!

For me it's the contrary! This new "modelgeek" server is a LOT slower than the previous one! The pages are taking ages to load... sometimes minutes!
For info I use a Mac ( OSX 10.2.8 ) with Safari ( 1.0.3 ). It is also slow when I use Explorer ( 5.2.2 )
I was on the site with my computer at work ( PC, Windows98 ) and it was also very slow.
Tell me there is not a French embargo on Armorama!

It is slow here too, but I think Jim explained why in a previous post.

The site may also run a bit slower on here to start as I have had to disable much of the caching systems (homepage, latest posts page) that keep redundant queries to the database down.

The problem with the gallery is no longer a DNS issue (domain resolving to correct server) but there is some configuration between our old server and the new server that the gallery is hicupping over. I have to find this needle in a codebase of about 10,000 lines of code (okay that is worst case scenario).

I am working on this issue (and about 4 others) today.

Can I give a time frame? No, not until I understand what is going wrong with the code and how to fix it.

Thanks,
Jim

Actually wouldnt the worse case scenario be that you would have to rebuild the gallery?

Thanks for the update though and do let us know if you need help in anyway.

Been there, done that, got several T-shirts, glad I'm retired ...
Good Luck -- May it be in the first 1000 lines & not the last ...

Looks like the galleries starting to run again.

Just one question. Is it just me or has the latest post page been shut off now as well? When ever I try going there all I get is a blank page.

Any way keep you the good work. I’m sure you guys will be able to get everything back up and running before too long.
