Surprise! We changed servers again. This one (yes just one at the present) has a lot of bells and whistles our dual server setup did not have. I fully expect we will be back up to 2 dedicated servers in a few months but for now we just will see how this one does.

The new server features...

- dedicated Cisco firewall
- dual 120GB hard-drives with RAID 1 failover protection
- full FTP backup and job support (no more manuals Scott!) :-)
- better control panel and hopefully less bugs

That is all for now... as I have time I will be fixing various non-working areas (gallery, support center, sub-sites, etc).

Armorama sub-domains will not be working for the interim. You may want to set your theme selection to default if this is causing problems for your home page view.

Thanks,
Jim

Ahhhhhhh that's better. I was going through some pretty serious Armorama withdrawls. So far it seems like Armorama Lite, but at least it's something.

Thanks, as always, for all your hard work behind the scenes Jim.

Glad to see the sites back up.

It seems so strange with the newest post column filled with “No Posts”

Actually that is one of the things I need to fix. If that data is pulled the main Forum page hangs for some reason... little mysteries.

The site may also run a bit slower on here to start as I have had to disable much of the caching systems (homepage, latest posts page) that keep redundant queries to the database down.

So, we smoked a server huh?Cool!! I only say that light heartedly as I get to do that to equipment intentionally now and then on "trial runs".'Run-to-failure tests','Burn in' tests. All are really educational funside stuff where we learn a lot from the results.
If we really did "smoke" the previous one,was the warrenty still good? Free upgrade to Terminator /Skynet level?
Anyway, nice to see the gang again!
cheers!

At last we are starting to get back on track.

I was disapointed when I got to work and the site was down, I had to actauly do some proper work and not get my model fix.

When I was on this morning there were about 37 logged on and this afternoon we are on a few hundred logged on, words getting round.

I discovered something horrible today (I was very busy yesterday) - I'm addicted!
Checking every 10 minutes if Armorama is back is an addicton, right?

Yes...it is true...Armorama is an addiction...Its really funny actually...I walk by Kevin on the computer all the time..and im like..are you in Armorama again...?? and then i sit down at my computer..and where is the first place i go...yep...Armorama....

OMG.....I just had a terriable thought...What if there was no more Armorama as we know it????? What would we do???

Is there a 12 step program in place in case that day comes to past??

Anyway...I'm just glad that things will be back to normal soon..

Mary
