Hi eMan!
Thanks!
Definitely a cool looking aircraft. The paintscheme is great, I like it very much!

Now you have posted 3 pictures, you can enter the model in this month's MOM!

Hi Jean-Luc!
I am a new member at the site and saw this campaign today, couldn't resist

I'll be building an Academy 1/72 P-40E with "sharkmouth" and decals from Skymodels. There are no photos yet, but sure will fix some as soon as the build progresses!
Regards,
Peter

Looks good,
and you do not see Dutch planes that often... any reason why this one in particular?

Thank you for the kind words. I decided to build this one as the scheme just sort of called to me. Nothing really flashy or extreme, I just liked the way it looked. The added bonus was all of the stenciling that came with the ROG/Hasegawa kit. Just about everything there is to be found on the real one was on the sheet. Thanks again. "Q"
ps. Currently doing a US F-104C, Greek "G" with Bullpups, and German Show Bird. Yeah,... I like the 104.

Thanks a lot for adding another (superb!) entry to this Campaign!

It's nice to see that some more are still coming in! Congratulations for a fine model. You can be proud of it!

So I got my cast off a couple weks ago, and despite having very poor hand strength and dexterity in my left hand (apparently it takes hands a long time to recover from a break in a major bone), I have managed to get some work done on my entry. I am afraid I will still have to rely on my medical extension despite the month extra the campaign has recieved as a whole.
Subassemblies more or less done. Still working on mating the aftermarket nacelles to the kit bulkhead/cooling flaps (slight size and shape difference - just enough to be a bugger). Had some troubles with the nose - am kinda glad i went for an aircraft that had its glazing painted over now. the bad side is show in the photo. the other side is a better mating.
Should have cleaned up the work table a little better before photographing it...

Hi all!
The Campaign will end in 3 days!

Is anyone still building for that one? We need four more models to reach the goal of 50 percent of completion!
Come on guys! The battle is not finished until the last drop of glue wasn't versed!

Jean-Luc, I too have finally finished.
Revell's 1/48 P-51D kit with Tamiya's F-51D decals. Unfortunately the decals decided to mutiny. A few just disintegrated and the others were very brittle, not even Microscale’s Liquid decal film helped. I had to resort to ‘decal-it’ transfer emulsion to keep the remainder in ‘one’ piece, this negated any use of Micro Sol & Set.
Tamiya’s extra thin cement (NOT RECOMMENDED!!) was used on the shark mouth to get them to at least adhere to some contours, this damaged the colour and one piece of the one mouth, luckily Tamiya’s red is a very close match!

Hi Eric!
Great to see your P-51 finished just in time!

Bad news about the decals though...

... but it's nor noticable on the picture!

The model looks good!
So we need 3 more today!

Thanks for the observations guys. Except for the few that disintegrated the others actually (after treatment) reacted very well, as can be seen in the photos below.
Star & Bars on wing:

This actuator(?) is only 5mm long, a moistened ear-bud helped the decal 'follow the contours'

The decal adheres well to the surface (sprayed silver) contours
This decal (U.S. Air Force) cracked in several places and had to be put in place with a cocktail stick
PS: Not bad photos for a Kodak DX3600!

Hi all!
I joined this campaign rather late, but here is now my entry: It's the P-40 E of Robert Scott, 23rd FG in China, september 1942. The kit is Academy 1/72 with decals from Sky Models and from the kit itself. Still a few stencils left to put on, then a layer of Future and up on the shelf! I want to take the opportunity to thank Jean-Luc for this campaign and I hope I'm still in time. This is my first model built with some more ambition, the first one that I even airbrushed (!) so I am happy about it.
All the best,
Peter

Hi Peter!
It worked!

Congratulations!
You could be the last entry for this Campaign, even if I still hope some more will come in the next few hours... and there is still Vance with his "special" extension!
Will we reach the 30 completed models score?
