Hi all!

With only one month remaining for the Campaign, it's about time to consider finishing your entries guys! And don't tell me you didn't started yet! :-)

I'm not good at all in math but I know we have 58 participants (wow! ). 20 of them have already finished their entries (there's one double entry) and 10 are in the building process... so we should see 28 more models in the next days! Frankly I don't expect that much but I hope that those who started a model for this Campaign will have the time to finish it. If we have 30 models at the end (more than half the participant number) I would be very happy!

Now go back to your workbench and build a nice "teethed" aircraft! Maybe it will be the next MOM winner!

Hi Yalım!

That's good news! Do you have some in-progress pictures to share? Anyway, good luck for your T-28 (very interesting subject!)...

Well unfortunately I don't have a digital camera, so the answer is negative But as a sumarizing report I started the Heller 1/72 T28 and realised that it is actually an AT28(looking at the gun pod hubs under the wings, T28 doesn't have them as far as I know). In the decal sheet and on the cover it has a shark mouth but I am not doing the given planes. I will make an SEA scheme and a mouth. It will probably have imeginaru markings on it, so it will be some sort of could-be model. I added a pair of extra rocket louncher pylons (given just two in the model but I saw four on AT28 photoes). I don't think I will give any armement though. If I start once, I have to build the gun pods too and to be honest I don't want to work further on the little Trojan:] Afterall I had a taste of unarmed battle aircrafts lately(I really don't have a qlue why).Anyways my plan was it to be finish by today but coulşdn't. Soo, I hope next week(I have 6 other aircraft on me desk..pheew)

Jean-Luc, I have been steadily getting on with the task at hand. I changed from a P-51C to a F-51D. I've wanted to do a Natural Metal Finish for some time and have never had the guts to do one, that was until I got Revell's P-51D for a song. As I have decals for a F-51D in Korea, I thought why not…

Well here's my progress to date:

Hi Cristiane!

MOM = Model of the Month

The models with the MOM logos have won the monthly Armorama Aircraft contest. Two "Show your Teeth" models in a row... maybe we can do a Hat-Trick!

Eric, welcome to the "In Flight" section!

A couple of in progress pics. Aside from unforseen circumstances she should be completed on time.

Thanks Polarbear

It's the Hasegawa F-4E (#Ka6).

The Blu-Tac mask and my heavy-handed airbrushing did not leave as much overspray as I would have liked and I feel the colours contrast a bit too much. I am hoping that a dark wash and filter/s can fix this.

If anyone has any suggestions or tips for filters, they'd be appreciated. I was thinking a really thin, medium gray

Cheers

Hi Wiz!

You Phantom looks good! I don't think there is too much contrast in the colours, in the contrary... but I'm not a modern jet camo specialist. I also think the overspray, with the Blu-Tac method, look just right in that scale.
About the medium grey wash... hmmm... I'm not quite sure of the result I never used grey for washes on my models (only for panel lines on dark colors). I think it will give your aircraft a dusty look...

Keep the pictures coming!

Hey Wizard:

I agree with the above statements.. The F-4 looks great.. The colors don't really contrast that much in the pics, but if you are still looking to filter it down there is one thing you can try.

I have found that with the greens in your scheme. That if you take some Yellow pastel chalks and "scrub" the dust on the greens and darker colors around the green that it gives it a blended faded look. the more you dust on the more faded it looks. If that is what your going for..
Try it on a piece of scrap first though..

Thanks Jean-Luc and Paul for the comments.

I might leave it the way it is and see how it looks after decalling, a wash and dullcote.

Thanks again for the advice.

Jean-Luc,
Is it possible to plead for extra time, what with the Royal Fokker build and my "secret" project I am now struggling to finish my B-25 This has been such a well run campaign and I would love to finish it.

heheh,
i would have liked to plead for more time too, but i would probably waste it. still working hard to finish mine by the deadline. i know i will spend next month watching the world cup matches so there won't be much modelling done anyway

Hi all!

I was pretty sure some would ask for an extension! So I already prepared myself mentally to accept! :-)
Is one more month ok? this would make it a 6 month Campaign.
But I must warn you, in July I will make holidays in the South of France so this is the best I can do!
I will start to award the ribbons in June though for those who are finished.

heck - i might even be able to finish mine before july. I've started working on it again, despite it being slow going with the cast on my left hand. One never realizes how much a modeler utilizes wrist movements until it is taken away! I've also learned that plastic sanding dust is a very irritating thing to have between your skin an a cast that you cannot remove!

I think i'll be able to post an update of my work later today or tomorrow so that Jean-Luc can replace that silly picture of my cast in the "in flight" section with something more suitable.

An extension!?

I don't really need one, Jean-Luc, since I've only got one tiny detail left to build on my Saab A 32 Lansen. Guess which! :-)

Sorry for the blurry photo...

With an extension, I might be able to put this baby in a diorama! Thus, I'll accept!

Cheers!

Hi Fred!

Why does this not surprise me? :-)

Anyway, your "replacement" entry looks great! And with Bjorn's Lansen they do make a nice pair of jets!
