Not just you, mate...Jim Starkweather is making some changes to the system, but in the interim, although you may not be able to see the count, the tally is still being kept...this link may explain a little further. Follow about half way down the page to Jim's post...

To echo what Mark has said, and to save you from finding the relevant spot in the MSW thread

The post incremenation is happening. However the post number being shown is for Armorama not for this site. This was a temporary change so that people who have not yet posted on this site don't all appear as blank profiles.

When the fix is finished you will have this....

Total Posts: 235
This Site: 31

Total being all posts on the network. This site being the site your post is being displayed on.

Cheers,
Jim

so yeah, it appears Jim S. is addressing the post count issue, and the lack of post count is a temporary thing.

And to quote Mark this time "Stay tuned!" :-)

Funny, hadn't even paid attention to it. I'm sure certain folks were worried about it though.
However, I'll agree with Silantra-I've noticed the inability to see past posts for a while now. It's easier to refer someone to a post that's been discussed at length than to rewrite it every time. And yes, I've tried the search feature, but finding certain posts seems to be beyond my limited ability.

Why, oh why, does Armorama have to be split up this much?

Google for searching. I find it very poor compared to the last system. The seperate gallery. All of this new stuff... Just ridiculous.

Sorry. Rant over.

If I had not limited the use of the internatl search engine and relied more on the 100+ thousand pages already in googles "cached" search engine... well then this site would be crawling along quite slowly at times (or offline).

When I get some free time (or am able to pursue this full-time) revampling the internal search abilities would be top on my list of things to do). Right now it's just too big a job and Google does it better without killing the server in the process.

Cheers,
Jim

(LOL) The real question posed here is: When does our fearless leader get to indulge in our hobby? I am well aware that every hour on Armorama is one less at my hobby bench. But poor Jim has it the worst of all of us...he's not only on it...he's IN it! :-)

Does this post count transition have anything to do withthe following ??

Until recently every time I came to Armorama only new posts since the last time I was on would be colored "current".

Since about 1-2 May (when we had the Armorama-computergeek flip-flop) I have noticed that posts from previous day(s) are still shown current ...

Actually, I like not being able to see the post count. I think the date of joining and the rank is enough to indicate experience. Never really liked the one-upmanship of the exact post counts. Also nice to be surprised by a promotion. Oh well, better enjoy it while it lasts!
