Favorisio thanks and you are not the only one to ask about how I dusted my Dukw so I have written up a simple explaination of how I do it. you can find it on my website here.....

Hollowpoint. I understand what you are trying to say and for the most part it may be true. However I have found out in the past year of research for military Models that there is almost always an exception to every rule. Esp. when the military loves to update older equipment to meet newer standards. The one picture I found of an early duck in squardon's book that had the slots also did not have the wheel skirts or the tire inflation system. I know the inflation system was developed later than 1942, and since it was a great improvement many older dukw's prob got it as an upgrade. But I'm also pretty sure the slots were added in at a later date than 1942, and most of the existing pictures we have of dukws are late to post war dukw's It is understandable that most of the slotted dukws would have the tire inflation system.
I still hope to hear from the Dukw restorer in Chicago about when the slots were adopted as standard.. If I get an answer I will post it.

They also have DUKW tours in Boston, I saw a pic somwhere.
Yep, they do. Went on one a couple years ago. When your in the Charles River, they let volunteers from the audience steer it. Uh huh, I jumped at the chance! (Quack! Quack!)

Looks just great!!
Good thing that the bird monster didn't get any ideas about applying his/it's own winter white wash.
