Some of you may already know of or even own this book. I just came across it at Barnes & Noble on clearance for $6.50.



It has 300 pics of military uniforms of the 20th century for numerous nationalities and would make a very good reference book for figure painting. There are also titles for armor and artillery in the same line at the same price. The size of the book is great for the desktop or workspace too. It is about the size of a DVD case.

The same artwork turns up in a number of books on this side of the Atlantic too, usually in compilation works. Poses are evidently taken from photographs, and it can be interesting to try and find the originals.

What's the title of the book?

The book's generally OK, but some of the colours are off in certain plates. One or two have been flipped too (mirrored). And the pix are too small for decent cam recognition. Most of the WW2 pix can be found in a book by the same publisher titled Uniforms of WW2, which is a larger format.

Is my pic not showing up? The title is "20th Century Military Uniforms".

yeah the pic shows for me. Anyway yeah ive got the book at it seems pretty good i picked it up a while ago from poundstretch i think
