As someone who doesn't build a lot of Allied kits I am very impressed with the standard of the kits especially the complete engine detail.

Humidity levels around the world have dramatically risen in the past two days, experts cite a mysterious "drool factor" as the cause.

LMAO! Now thats funny! Seriously, though thiskit seems to be creating quite the stir. I guess we'll just have to resign ourselves to the fact that this will be an ongoing "humidity increase worldwide".
I'll bet this kit will be received well and should break sales records that were peviously set.

As it was only (officially) unveiled yesterday, it'll probably take a day or two for the retailers to get round to putting orders in...
That said, and this is worth bearing in mind, that the demand is going to be such that many retailers will be lucky to get 25% of what they are asking for - so, once again, the watchword will be patience.
The release date is set for November - don't be surprised if LHS' don't get (substantial) stocks in until January...Jim

Thanks for adding the sprue shots Vinnie. It will allow me to add some extra comments to the captions on my upcoming M2A1 Half-Track CD. Does that M3/M3A1 sprue also come in the kit? If it does, there's already everything there to make a M3/M3A1 from the M2/M2A1 kit.
One more thing I noticed was that you only get one type of coil spring for the idler. Hopefully the instructions will tell the builder not to use it if they are doing an early production M2.

The only unusual thing what caught my eyes for the first check is that they moulded the landmine racks together with the mines. This could make the wheathering a bit tricky. I think this will be one of the first AM modification to this kit.

As far as I know Chris, and I could well be wrong, I was led to believe that all the sprues in those pics come in that kit. But.........things were a bit hectic, so somebody could have made a mistake!

I think I have found the second AM addition topic for the kit, the bonnet. With the engine under the hood, it is a "must" to make it open. I have no good reference photos but the side panels are hinged to the top ones and folded upwards, aren't they? Does anybody know, were there a support beam under the central upper plate, or it was simply a plate?

There isn't a support beam under the center plate. The hood plates rest on metal edges that go around the outside of the engine compartment.

I'm no M3 expert by any means. I have to agree with Chris on this one. IF, the sprue will be included in the kit, and unless I'm missing some details, there is a M3 in the box!
Then again, the sprue shot could have been shown, only to show the evolution Dragon has planned for the kit.
I'm sure Jim will have more details to share after speaking with Dragon this week.
If all else fails, we go to plan "B".....
Vinnie, do you have the "getaway" car warmed up??? :-) :-) :-)

Quoted TextDoes that M3/M3A1 sprue also come in the kit?
Why would they do that? It's a M2 2in1 kit. They are going to milk this like the 251's. They are not going to give you evreything upfront. Besides, the frame on the M2 is shorter than the M3. Only see 1 frame.
One reason is that DML has a habit of including complete sprues from different kits just for one or two parts.
The frame of the M2 and M3 are the same length. The body of the M3 is 10 inches longer than that of the M2.
Correction I just rechecked my sources and the frame length is different. My mistake.

I am drooling already...pre-ordered my two just now. To answer the person who asked above, looks like Sprue Brothers and Great Models has them for pre-order, just under $35.00 a copy.
