I was wondering what you all thought that Dragon could do to improve the 3n1 kits especially in the 39'-45' series?

My 2 cents: Maybe some resin zimm or muzzle breaks? ( that would certainly drive the cost up but be worth it if it was quality)

I understand where you're coming from on this one - however, I don't consider it likely or practical. The problem is that if you start adding stuff like this, the price very quickly starts going thru the roof - look (as an example) how uncompetitive the price of Italeri's Sahariana is. Areas like this will remain in the hands of the AM people until the (plastic) manufacturers find a cheaper and realistic solution...

I agree with Jim, overall it's important, just to get a very good model on the market, with maybe a few extra goodies added, this way it's more affordable ,if the manuf. started loading up their boxes, there would be less people who could afford the basic model itself ,this way ,the model can be built OOB, and the AM people take over and if your wallet can handle it. Wth the rising costs of living, i know i won't be able to.

Only thing I'd like to see change on DML's 3in1 kits or any of their other Premium kits would be workable track.

To me the kits are a perfect balance between price and goodies added. The only thing that really needs attention is the Instructions. While usable, they are a tad cluttered.

Having done several of the various 2 or 3-in-1s, I'll echo that wholeheartedly! :-)

I'm not sure what the Eduard PE sets cost in Europe or elsewhere but I just bought 1 set of the Zimmerit for the DML Brumbar (late), 1 detail set and a set of side skirts for the Italeri Hetzer for about $36.00 including S&H.

I paid £20 for it and it's quality.

He wasn't talking about scale he was pointing out that there are a lot of tiny pieces. As to the kits, I too don't like the directions. Maybe they ought to print the assembly stuff as either different sets or add separate pages for the three variations keeping the common assembly like undercarriage as the first part.

well Eduard etch has just come down in price and Atak zim kits are fairly cheap and gorgeous, both adding about 40 bucks to a $35 Dragon kit that already comes with a ton of extras, still much less then the 'Tamiya' aproach to adding goodies when they take old kits and add indies, basic etch, and a metal barrell for some $75.

I would imagine some of the older kits will get reworked slightly into smart or premium versions like the Panther, Elefant, T34, and King tiger have. I had just mentioned they need to upgrade the Stug as there is no 'ultimate' modern kit of it right now and Dragon already has at least 5 versions but are all about 10 years old-and two days later it was announced one's in the works.
