I like Shermans so do my "cats" Panthers und Tigers. All cats need toys to play with. The cats chew up the Shermans and Stuarts as if devouring cat chow. Only Kidding - I model quite a bit of OD and the Shermans as already mentioned have so many variants. As far as camo schemes ther is enough to keep me busy. Presently I have a M4A4 Bocage Normandy 1944, M4A1NW Europe 1945, and a Sherman Firelfy. I have on order a M32 Recovery vehicle, Easy Eight, and a BARV. I model the Sherman for it's importance in WW2 and beyond. I also model OD to honor my father and uncles all WW2 Vets.

After WW2 in the late 40´s the army of my country bought about 450 Sherman, most Firefllys. They were upgraded and modified and some of them stay in service up to the begining of the 90´s. Can check photografs an information about them in:

Well, after reading this thread again - I'm coming to a fateful question...
Do I dare dream?
Is it possible, amongst all the knowledgable and able modelers who frequent these pages, that we might approach modeling representatives of all these variants of the venerable Sherman?!?
Going even further - are there representative models of all the makes of "kittys" out there too - all Panthers and Tigers - sitting on someone's shelf crying out to be photographed and uploaded?!?
Please - tell me this is just a dream...

I am a Sherman nut from way back, just in the last couple of months I started other U.S. armor, you could build for years and years and still not cover it all, I have built 27 and 1, 85% finished, it is called "Off the Line" and is a 105 from the 6th armor div. With all the great and some times odd markings (girls, names) so on it is never ending.
Got the fever so bad I even collect items off the real thing.

Don't know why. My account can handle a very large e-mail size without problems. Are you sending it to:

If you check through yahoo groups there is a group devoted to "shermans". It caters for all variants and all scales, so may be of interest to some of you nuts! I am subscribed to it just to see and learn something from it and most of it goes over my head. These guys know what they are talking about and it is quite a productive page as there is a full e-mail every day with sherman chat!

Yeah - I've only gotten four more this week. Those will be up this afternoon, or this evening. Would like to see some more from your Sherman-Lovers!

Hi Gun Truck:
Is that one a Sherman Jumbo ? Thr turret, and more specificly the mantlet doesn´t seem to be from a Jumbo. It looks like a T23 turret and a 76mm gun. Am I right ? The kit looks great.

Just to bring a little more clarity to that...this is the Italeri Jumbo kit that isn't....but still builds into a good representation of a M4A3 (76) W. :-)

I'm sorry here guys but not to start a major controvery but according to what source did you come up with Wittman got waxed by a Sherman. According to the Tiger 1 book by Bruce Culver and Uwe Feist, it was a Typhoon and witnessed by a French civilian. (p274) Granted the book is dated and new evidence does come to light. EX The palentologists are now saying the Tyrannosaurus Rex was not a predator but a scavenger. So, I am open to new evidence not speculation. As Tiger I does point out, several groups did claim the honor including an artillery regiment, 4th Canadian, and the 1st Northamptonshire. Of course before this event let us not forget Villers Bocageor what he did to the1st Polish division at Cintheaux. And this was one guy. He was a tanker as were all the brave guys in the Shermans that went up against him
