Hello everybody,
This may sound like a silly question but its been on my mind for a while.
How do you deal with after market resin heads from for example hornet or verlinden. Do you buy the heads in advance and build up a collection so that you have a head for every situation if you want to modify a figure.
Or when you modify do you go out and purchase a set of head that suites the figure.
Just wondering how everyone else deals with the head situation.
Well I'd better stop - all this has given me a sore head
Cheers
Jamie

I have built a collection of heads ...Dragon,Hornet,Tank (mmm...Tank!),Warriors...I have a bunch of hands too.. I really dont care too much for Verlinden ( no offense Francois )..Any ways, its always good to have a variety to choose from ( if you can afford to do that).

I keep about 3 or 4 packets of bald heads, or heads with 1940s haircuts all the time, as these can be used quite freely between different countries and situations. They can also be reworked a little, to allow an injection helmet/cap to fit if needed. I buy specific head sets when and as needed for specific scenes.
I usually buy hornet and ultracast heads, but for Germans you could look at Legend productions who have 3 sets of heads ... 2 x assorted germans and 1 x bear heads .... cheap, useful and quite nice. The occasional Dragon head is still used, if it suits or looks OK. In fact the quality of heads ... especially in some of the kits from Eastern Block countries, is getting much better.
Another source is Alpine and Ultracast figures ... they usually come with a choice of heads, so figure a top class and useful spare head, every time you buy one of these figures.

Why worry about the way everybody else does it ? Do what you want but I will say that everybody has a spares box & everybody has heads in it,but if you do see something that you like just get it while you can ,also there is always some variation in size like a Verlinden or Dragon head may look big on Tamiya figures & a hornet head may look small on a Dragon or Verlinden figure.I bet thereīs nobody on this site who doesnīt have an unfinished kit & spares box. Itīs about enjoying yourself ( & for me taking my mind off other worries). By the way who is Rona?

Since I buy my Hornet heads from Historex, they turn up in a couple of days. So I don't worry about having to have lots lying around the place.

Hi Mike,
My username is based on a bit of a joke from where I come from. I come from the Shetland Islands (I'm currently in Glasgow for uni, only 14 days left till I finish my degree) and me and a couple of mates go hill climbing every weekend.
Anyway the largest hill (450m) is called ronas hill and we've been up and down several times. Ronastwat is is just a nickname I have due to our obsession with walking up this hill. You could say I am a bit of an idiot for walking up the same hill over and over again and this is what the nickname suggests. Here is a picture of the said hill and thanks for the advice. My bits box is pretty small at the moment so I will have to let it grow by buying some heads
Cheers
Jamie
