I've visited your web site a number of time and I'll tell you I like it a lot. At first thought you might not think that there is enough for a Mortar site - but man you've done it.

Well done.

That is excellent, Ed. I think mortars make for great projects; especially when done as well as yours. Your accessories are outstanding, but that mortar...that is a thing of beauty. Well done.

Boy, that brings back some memories. Where did you get the web gear? Is that scratch built or is there a set out there. I would love to get some of that stuff for a future diorama.

Excellent job. The helmet on top of the stake is a nice touch. :-)

I got the web gear from my mind, #:-) a modeling ruler that has the 1/72, 1/48, 1/35, and 1/24, paper, small sections of twisted telephone wire. Yes, it other words it was mostly scratch. The pistol belt and suspenders were made of paper, wire, and super glue.

The attached gear is from my spare parts bin. A mix of Tamyia and Academy . The ALICE back is Tamiya with a scratch built frame, waist belt, and shoulder straps.

If you guys want, I'll work up a quick drawwing of how I did it. I could even include measurements. #:-)

You're welcome. IT was the least I could do. You and your site was a good source of info.

Thanks. Nope this one doesn't fire. Couldn't find a strong enough tube to hold the charge. Plus it would be a bear to create mortar small enough to work. :-) :-) :-) #:-)

Still have another 4.2 inch mortar still in its bag. So, wait till the next one. I'm planning on doing it in a diorama. Basic concept will be a deliberate firing position. Found my old Combat Engineer FM that has a diagram and measurements for it.

Now here's my thoughts for the construction. One is to just build it without any figures. While the other one is to build it depicting a dangerous situation. But, some what humorous. Having the mortar crew minus the loader jumping out of the pit. While the loader is dropping a round down the tube Fuze first.

Any comments? #:-)
