Never carried my ammo like is depicted. Got dirty and the gun jammed. That was not a good thing in a fight. Looks better in a movie where if you are killed.you still go home after the days filming. Semper Fi. Ted Nichols 0331 The M-60 looks a little too big.

That is animal mother... No doubt about it

Nice try, I like the figure but the gun is too big, I carried an M60 and was in service after Nam. Wrapping yourself in linked 7.62mm belts is like wearing a bomb. I have seen pictures of some do that, if I were their NCO I would have made them take it off. Many NCOs in Vietnam had very little training and did not know any better themselves, like WWII they wore grenades out in the open on their web gear. That too is a mistake. Also the figure is too robust, a month in NAM and you lost most of your muscle mass, many guys lost up to 20-40 pounds of body weight. Unlike Iraq and Afghan they did not workout and lift weights in their off time nor did they eat much, too hot and humid. I probably will buy the figure anyway and replace the M60 and reposition the ammo belts. It looks like a nicely made figure. Very talented sculpting and nicely done but more like a movie prop.

As far as I know, this figure was sculpted to represent Animal from Full Metal Jacket movie... That's why the figure looks "Hollywood-ish". Mario

Just google for Animal and you can find a photo of the scene where he is being interviewed by reports that looks exactly like this figure. Unfortunately Hollywood influences how the periods "appear". Its a great Hollywood badass tough guy look, but totally unrealistic pose for someone who needs the weapon and ammo to survive until they get to return to the Real World. However, the sculpting and detail on this figure and the other Evolution Miniatures figures is exquisite for 1/35 scale. So get out your M41, pretend its a M48, add animal and a TV crew and you can recreate a Kubrick scene in 1/35, inaccuracies and all. Actually talk about a bizarre diorama.... How about adding Kubrick and a movie crew filming the whole thing? Not something I would do, but it would get some attention. It would also allow the modeler to "explain" the inaccuracies without argument from his peers.

Looks like another great figure from Evolution. Perfect for a diorama or even a stand alone scene. I wouldnīt really have picked up on the M-60 being too big, but I dont really like the etched rounds ... too flat for my taste. Id prefer to use resin or plastic alterniatves. I like the pose and dont even mind what some consider the "Hollywood" posing ... but we cannot totally use this excuse as it did happen, as photos exist of such actions. May not be text book, but as long as real life examples exist, why knock it. If modelling was only about having it 100% text book accuracy, and dinīt reflect the individuality, creativeness and brashness of armies, we might as well all model airliners

another thing wrong is his flak jacket. he is wearing an Army issue one as oppose to a USMC flak jacket. in the movie they wore the wrong jacket as well.
