MiniArt has a new heavy towing vehicle in the works a Ya-12 Soviet Artillery Tractor. So far only CAD images are available but those images show a promising model in the works. Look inside for details.
MiniArt look to be going to town on this Ya-12 Soviet Artillery Tractor with items such as a fully detailed GM 4-71 diesel engine which I believe is the main if not only difference between the Ya-11 and Ya-12, a fully detailed suspension and drives, and add to this what appear to be workable tracks. The option of having the back covered or open allows for some interesting display possibilities such as having a gun crew in the back while towing an artillery gun or stacked high with ammunition making an urgent delivery.
This vehicle came into being in 1943 as a response to the Soviet forces need for a tractor to move artillery pieces around the field of conflict and the Ya-12 was up to the task being able to move the heaviest artillery pieces of the time.
