Revell of Germany has announced a February 2012 release date for their new 1/35 injection molded German Army Henschel Type 33D1. This six wheeled truck from pre-war Germany is sure to please the soft skinned and wheeled vehicle enthusiasts around the globe.
Revell of Germany provides armor modellers with something different in their 1/35 release of the Henschel Type 33D1 six wheeled truck. According to their release, the kit comprises 324 parts, has detailed interior fittings, engine covers that can be posed open, and decals for three German Army vehicles.

From the Revell of Germany website:

In the course of the first motorisation programme the German Army required the development of cross-country six-wheeled trucks with a capacity weight of 3 tonnes.

Henschel supplied the first "Type 33 B 1" vehicles in 1928. Already by the following year the "Type 33 D 1" with a more powerful diesel engine (100 hp)had been introduced. This type is recognizable from its longer bonnet and extended wheelbase between first and second axles. In the early versions of the "Type 33 D 1" the rear axles were driven by separate drive shafts.

This model kit is for the later version which from 1934 onwards had only one drive shaft with drive-through to the second rear axle and Simplex wheel rims.

Details:
- Late version with only one drive shaft and Simplex wheel rims
- Surface details with fine engravings
- Authentic reproduction of wooden platform
- Twin tyres on rear axle
- Simplex wheel rims
- Authentic reproduction of engine
- Engine covers can be shown open
- Detailed interior fittings
- Authentic decals for 3 German Army vehicles

I know that Revell of Germany's aircraft kits are usually pretty nice, but I don't know anything about their 1/35 armor kits. Would I be able to expect the same from them?

This looks like the ICM kit that was released back in June. Revell Germany leases a lot of molds. If this is a re-box of the ICM Henschel truck it's good news, the ICM kit is superb.

It IS indeed the ICM kit. Revell states this explicitly in their release list. The only new mold is the Schützenpanzer Puma. It`s still not clear how many changes will be done in their announced Leopard 2 A6M model. Hans-Hermann

Then that IS good news, LOL, as ICM kits are usually quite pricey here or if shipped from Europe, while the RoG kits are much more affordable. They apparently at one time had a "bulk order" discount, but I could find no evidence of it when I last went to their website.
