A number of months ago, it was announced at one of the Trade Shows that Trumpeter was working on a 1/35th scale model of the German Br52 Locomotive. Now, thanks to Trumpeter, we can give you a 'taster' with some details and the first image of the Box-Art...
Logically, no Leopold kit is complete without a locomotive to tow it and its (many) support wagons. What has long been needed is a suitable locomotive in 1/35th scale....
The New kit - 00210: Kriegslokomotive BR52 Is a 710 piece plastic kit on no less than 27 Sprues. The dimensions are equally impressive with a length of 886mm Width of 87mm and a Height of 134.2mm.
Two problems immediately present themself over this kit. Firstly, the sheer size... Perhaps a local constructor should be consulted about building an extension? Secondly, and sadly all too obvious, just how does one sneak this past the eagle-eyed gaze of SWMBO?
Finally, I wish to express my thanks to the staff of Trumpeter for sending me the image of the box-art and the technical details.
Finally, for a little more reading on the subject, there is a reprint of one of the U.S. Army's evaluation documents on the BR52 HERE!!
