Riich Model has informed Armorama of a model due for release and it is the much requested 6pdr.
How many requests for a new 6pdr have there been recently? I have lost count but Riich Model must have notices as they have announced a new model due for release in March. The full title of this model is a bit of a handful but here goes Ordnance QF 6 pdr Mk IV anti-tank gun on Mk 1A carriage. Considering the small size of this gun there are a number of options and a surprising amount of photo etched pieces. In order to further increase the appeal of this model there is a second release of M1 and 6 PR 7CWT(BR) ammunition set which should offer the chance for some interesting dioramas. What is left to say but roll on March.

I completely missed this one, great news, finally a new 6pdr. It will be a very welcome addition for British and Commonwealth modellers. As they are doing a ammo set I wonder if they will do a crew for the gun too? Really please about this, lets hope it is a good kit. Al

That's great news for all of us! I don't know how many of you guys are aware of the fact that RESICAST did a British 6pdr and a kit of the US Army M1 57mm AT Gun as a companion piece several years ago? Since I bought one of each, I never checked to see if they're still in production. Anyway, I'm sure that the RIICH 6pdr will be a welcome addition to a lot of modellers' collections... Has anyone heard if RIICH will follow RESICAST's example and offer a US Army M1 57mm AT Gun?

For a 6 pdr you need a Lloyd Carrier to go with it, not a Bedford. Paul

I'd like to see an M5 for it.

For a 6 pdr you need a Lloyd Carrier to go with it, not a Bedford. Paul
Hi, All! The really great thing about 6-pounders and US M1 57mm ATs was that they could be towed by virtually anything that was available, just like PaK.36s, PaK.38s and PaK.40s... +

For a 6 pdr you need a Lloyd Carrier to go with it, not a Bedford. Paul
The Llloyd was only one of many tractors employed to tow the 6 Pdr. You could also use a windsor Carrier, CMP truck, Universal Carrier or even a Quad which has been photographed towing them. The Lloyd was probably the most common in NWE but in other theatres a variety of vehicles were used including the Valentine during the Mareth Line battles. I would not be surprised to see a Lloyd carrier from Riich down the track given the parts already available to them in the Universal carrier. As for the 6 pdr a very welcome release particularly as it is Mk IV and suitable for late war. If AFV ever releases their AB one then we have a good start on the family and I would not be surprised if the Mk 1/II guns don't follow on. The resicast guns are very good but also very expensive. Orange Hobby released an excellent multimedia M1 57mm last year but is a very complex and timeconsuming model. It is about half the price of the Resicast Mk II/M1 Al
